That snapped everyone to attention. Phones came out, and the room buzzed as people searched for Williams families in Cabinda.

A third-tier family from Cabinda wasn’t much fancier than someone from Harrisburg. It was nothing like what Ablitt and his friends had hyped up, as if Audrey was way out of everyone’s league. He seemed more interested in proving that Audrey’s so-called connections were just her riding on the coattails of those Cabinda guys.

Amy was the first to flat-out call it fake. She gritted her teeth and muttered to Iris, “There’s no way this is real. How could she have such a crazy background? If she did, she would’ve used it the first day we met! This is just another one of her tricks.”

Iris agreed deep down. She just couldn’t believe Audrey could suddenly turn out to be someone so important.
