Swapping a Broken Heart for a New Start novel Chapter 1313

When word got out that Camila Davis was finally out of danger, everyone in the Williams family, along with Sarah Brown and the rest, could barely hide their excitement. They couldn't wait to see her. But since Camila was still under observation at the research institute, they couldn’t all just visit when they wanted. Dennis Williams didn’t waste any time. He went straight to the institute's upper management and asked if Camila could be transferred to the private facility his family owned.

Mr. Morris didn’t even hesitate. The research center Dennis had in mind was one he’d built just for Camila, sparing no expense. The place had everything, from state-of-the-art medical equipment to the kind of peaceful surroundings that made healing feel natural. Honestly, it was just as good, if not better, than the institute. The transfer paperwork went through in a snap, with only one condition—Camila’s daily medical reports had to be sent back to the institute on schedule.

As soon as Dennis got the green light, he got everything set up. That same day, Camila was moved over. By evening, the medical room at the new place was already filled with people she loved.

Sarah Brown got to her first. She practically flew into Camila’s arms, bursting into tears as she hugged her tight. Her eyes were as red as cherries and she could barely get her words out between sobs. “I knew it, Camila! I just knew you wouldn’t leave me! I’m so, so happy you’re okay!” She sniffled, her voice trembling, “You have no idea how worried I was. I’m just so glad you’re alright.”

Yesterday, Sarah had been upset, angry even, that Camila didn’t tell her how serious things were. She’d spent the whole day a mess, and the entire night tossing, turning, and bawling her eyes out, unable to sleep.

Now here Camila was, looking so much like her old self that Sarah completely crumbled, ugly crying with snot and tears everywhere. At first, Camila was touched, but soon enough she couldn’t take it anymore. She half-laughed, half-groaned and called out, “Larry, please get her off me! I can’t breathe!”

Larry Adams just chuckled, shaking his head in amusement. “Sarah’s just really happy, Camila. She didn’t sleep at all last night worrying about you. This morning, she was up at dawn, waiting for any news from Dennis.”

He gently set his bouquet on the table and pulled Sarah back, wiping away her tears with his thumb. Camila then noticed the dark circles under Sarah’s eyes and felt another wave of affection for her best friend.

Aurora Robinson and Billy Brown showed up next, carrying flowers and beaming with relief. Aurora smiled warmly at Camila and said, “Congratulations on your recovery. We’re all so happy you’re okay.” Then she leaned in for a hug.

Camila hugged her tight in return, moved beyond words. “Thank you, Aurora, thank you, Billy. And by the way, congratulations to both of you for finally making it through everything and ending up together!”

After them came Douglas Williams and Charlotte Kelly, followed by Audrey Williams and then Ablett. The old man, who had always found something to nitpick before, actually looked like he might cry as he saw Camila looking healthy again. Even so, his voice stayed serious as he said, “Get yourself strong again and plan that wedding. From now on, you and Dennis are only going to find more happiness.”
