Sweet Flash Marriage with the Restrained Tycoon (Isabelle and Damien) novel Chapter 110

The rooms by the lake were all standalone, like individual bubbles, appearing both romantic and luxurious. Each unit was spaced about twenty meters apart, costing tens of thousands of dollars a night.

They didn't have to walk; the resort provided shuttle service.

As luck would have it, the shuttle stopped halfway, pulling up in front of a group of familiar strangers.

There was Gary, looking utterly shocked, Nicole, whose pale complexion showed even through heavy makeup, and a smirking Blaze—surrounded by a group of bridesmaids, photographers, and makeup artists.

The scene was dead silent.

Isabelle only felt the large arm around her waist tighten, followed by his magnetic, low voice in her ear. "Wreck it?"

Damian was asking for her opinion. If she so much as nodded, today's wedding likely wouldn't happen.

She knew he was fully capable of it—hitting a woman, pinning Gary down, breaking limbs, crippling hands... He'd hit anyone she told him to, and that was no joke.

Isabelle shook her head slightly, nuzzling into his chest. "Your hands are for counting money. Don't dirty them."

A smile touched his lips. "Okay," he agreed, and said nothing more.

The driver was growing impatient, and the photographer urged Gary and the others to board.

Damian and Isabelle took the very back row. The others crowded toward the front. Even though the back was empty, no one dared to sit there.

No greetings were exchanged. Once on board, the awkwardness faded—out of sight, out of mind.

The shuttle began to move. The scenery along the way was beautiful. Cypress trees lined the road, which wound around the lake, creating a unique charm.

"What did Ashley say to you today?" Isabelle couldn't help but ask.

Damian replied, "She said she still loves me. That she wants to win me back."

"Oh. And what did you say?"

"What do you want me to have said? Hmm?"

As Damian tilted his head down, he inadvertently caught Gary's gaze in the rearview mirror. Gary was watching them through it.

"Would you ever waver?" Isabelle asked.

Damian let out a soft, amused sound. "Did last night not make you like me enough? To give you that idea?"

A flush spread from her neck to the tips of her ears. After a few drinks last night, her courage had been boundless. They'd had a crazy night.

She wanted to explain, but his warm, wet kiss cut her off.

Isabelle was startled by him.

We're in public! In broad daylight! Even though we're alone in the back row, this is so blatant...

She was mine! How could she forget our five years together so quickly? Impossible!

The bridesmaids whispered among themselves.

"So that's Isabelle? She hooks up with a rich guy right after dumping Gary?"

"They can actually get a room here? Even wealthy people struggle to book this place!"

"I wonder if his bedroom skills are as impressive as his connections are."

Gary suppressed the fury in his heart. They had worked for two months to book this venue. They couldn't even get a room, yet Damian could just stay here at will!

He didn't know if Damian's connections were that solid, or if Isabelle had already latched onto him before their breakup. The more he thought, the angrier he got!

Nicole, beside him, seemed perfectly at ease. If this scene could make Gary give up on Isabelle for good, that would be ideal!

Damian glanced at the refreshed-looking Isabelle beside him. "Did Mrs. Cross take my hand just to show him?"

Isabelle said, "What if I said yes, just to show them? Would you be mad?"

He didn't respond, his mood clearly dipping a little.

She continued, "Mr. Cross, I don't think you know yourself very well."
