Brian released a soft, almost inaudible sigh. He set down the items in his hands, stood up, and walked straight into the bathroom Diana deliberately slowed her movements. By the time she turned around, the sound of the shower running was already coming from behind the closed door. She let out a quiet breath of relief and walked into the adjoining bedroom to change.

Fortunately, it was a suite with a separate living area and bedroom.

After changing, she didn’t overthink it. Assuming Brian would likely be working for a while, and since he had told her to rest in the room earlier, she figured he wouldn’t come in. She lay down on the bed and quickly drifted off to sleep.

When Brian emerged from the bathroom, he noticed the bedroom door was slightly ajar. He assumed Diana had changed and left He didn’t dwell on it and returned to the sofa to continue reviewing his documents.

It wasn’t until around 5:30 in the afternoon that the quiet was broken.

Inside the bedroom, Diana was gradually roused by a murmur of voices from the other room. She slowly opened her eyes. The sun had set, and the soft, fading light of dusk spilled across the bed, bathing her in a warm, golden glow.

She sat up, her muscles aching-probably from swimming earlier after such a long break. Slipping on her house shoes, she stepped out of the room.

“Brian…”

She started to speak but froze. The living room was filled with Cypher Group shareholders. Damian was there too.

Startled, she immediately slammed the door shut with a loud thud.

Damian glanced at Brian and raised an eyebrow, a knowing smile playing on his lips.

Brian was frozen for a good two seconds before it clicked-Diana was still here. His eyes darkened slightly with a flicker of regret, as if he’d just missed a prime opportunity.

This impromptu shareholders’ meeting was originally supposed to be in Damian’s suite, but since Isabelle was still resting they had gathered in Brian’s instead. It seemed they were all in similar situations

Everyone present took the hint gracefully. Once the discussion concluded, they made their exits without delay.

Damian was the last to leave. “Smooth,” he said with a quiet laugh.

Brian just shook his head with a wry chuckle. He had thought Diana had left decisively, so he hadn’t bothered to check the bedroom. If he’d known she was lying there asleep, he would have closed the door and lost himself with her long ago,

Even if he couldn’t have everything he wanted, he could have at least found some satisfaction. It seemed like everyone was running on a short fuse lately-no point in denying himself.

Damian gathered the documents from the table and headed back to his own suite.

the door, he saw isabelle standing in front of the full-length mirror, adjusting an evening gown.

and instinctively brought a hand to her chest. “You’re back so soon?

She had thought the shareholders’ meeting would last at least another half hour. It had wrapped up faster than expected. “Yeah, well, we had a helpful interruption,” Damian-replied, setting the documents down. His gaze fixed on her as he walked over. “Diana?” Isabelle began, then seemed to understand and fell silent. The picture became clear instantly.

Damian stood behind her and gently pulled up the zipper of her dress. Looking down from his height, he could just make out the faint marks he’d left on her skin earlier.

Isabelle watched his reflection in the mirror. A subtle smile touched his lips, though she wasn’t sure what he was thinking about

Her gown for the evening was an off-the-shoulder design with delicate sleeves that draped along her arms, flowing into an A-line silhouette. A base layer of soft peach was overlaid with intricate white lace, the sleek tailoring highlighting her gentle elegance, accentuating her figure and curves perfectly.

Damian was momentarily speechless. He had seen this design before-in Isabelle’s personal sketch portfolio.

“Muddlehead?” He tilted his head, studying the woman before him.

Isabelle couldn’t help but laugh and turned to face him. “You’re only figuring that out now?”

The smile on Damian’s face widened into something brilliant. “You’re Muddlehead?”

“Yes. I was going to tell you so many times, but the moment never seemed right. Eventually, I just stopped trying to bring it up.” She reached up and playfully pinched his cheek.

Damian pulled her into a tight embrace, holding her close. Before, he hadn’t cared about her background or any titles. He only knew she was his. As long as it was her, that was enough.

Only now did he realize the weight of this “hidden” part of her identity. She was the designer who had signed with Cross Boutique, the one collaborating on the high-profile civic project, a major partner at the Isadiana Studio, and also another protégée of the renowned Griffin… It was truly remarkable. He should have connected the dots sooner.

From the moment he first followed her alternate professional account, he’d had an inkling, but he’d never fully pieced it together

“Baby…” he murmured into her ear, his voice thick with emotion, “marrying me must have felt like such a step down for you.” Isabelle smiled and wrapped her arms around his neck. “Then you’ll just have to love me a little harder, sweetheart.”

“I plan to lavish all my attention on you tonight,” he promised, his voice turning low and intimate as he buried his face in une curve of her neck.

“Alright then, I’ll be waiting to see just how you plan to do that,” she replied softly, a blush spreading across her cheeks.

Damian loosened his hold slightly and brushed his thumb over her lower lip. “Tonight, I’ll take care of you exactly the way you want.”

Looking at her vivid, red lips, he was reminded of how they had made him completely lose his grip on control earlier. With just a soft kiss, it felt like she could draw his very soul out.

Without a word, Isabelle gently pushed him back, the tips of her ears turning a deep, burning red in their private moments, no matter what was said or done, it always felt like it came from a deep, instinctual place–a natural following of mutual desire. But hearing such things spoken aloud in the calm light of the room was entirely different.
