His sudden advance caught her off guard.

His kiss was gentle at first, a soft inquiry, but it soon turned demanding, his tongue claiming her mouth with a possessive aggression.
They hadn’t been intimate since her foot injury. It felt like a long time.
Patience was never his strong suit with Isabelle, but this time, it seemed he had been restraining himself for an eternity.
Originally, he had planned to let her rest more, not wanting to push her. But today, seeing her out and about, her leg apparently fine, was all the permission he needed to finally let go.
His hands gripped her waist, his large palms roaming roughly over her back, as if he wanted to fuse her into his very being instantly.
Susie, who had just arrived at the door with a basket of groceries, froze in place.
No matter what, Damian and Isabelle never displayed such intimacy in front of the staff. They were usually quite reserved.
She had clearly picked the worst possible moment.
Flustered, she quickly turned on her heel and left, deciding to return later.
Isabelle thought she heard a sound and tried to speak, but he was kissing her too deeply, drawing the very breath from her lungs.
All she could hear was his ragged breathing and the low, satisfied sounds rumbling in his chest.
Isabelle felt like a fish out of water, gasping yet utterly consumed by the wave of his passion.
The temperature in the open–concept kitchen soared. The fading sunset cast a single warm beam of light through the window, catching the fine sheen of sweat on their skin.
She had long forgotten about pushing him away.
She didn’t know what she was thinking, and in that moment, she didn’t care at all.
Damian felt his own arousal surge. If he didn’t stop now, he would lose all control.
He slowly broke the kiss, his lips leaving hers to brush gentle, teasing pecks at the corner of her
mouth.

“Don’t move…” His voice was a hoarse, muffled whisper, strained with restraint.

Isabelle’s eyes fluttered open. His clothes were still perfectly in place, not a crease out of order, while hers were in complete disarray.
Every button of her blouse was undone, her inner garments loose. One slight tug and she would be fully exposed.
She withdrew her hands from his neck, her face still flushed with lingering desire.
Damian carefully fastened the hidden clasp of her bra, his fingers lingering to give a soft, appreciative squeeze. A slow, wolfish smile spread across his lips.
The feeling was exquisite.
Embarrassed, Isabelle swatted his hand away and began buttoning her blouse herself.
As she looked down, her gaze accidentally fell on the prominent bulge straining against the fabric of his dress pants.
Damian adjusted his belt with a slight grimace; it was definitely too tight.
“See something you like?” he asked, his voice laced with a charming, knowing amusement as he watched her blush deepen.
Isabelle remained silent.
“Maybe you should go upstairs and rest for a bit?” he suggested. “Having you here is… incredibly distracting.”
Isabelle could only nod.
Damian scooped her up into his arms. Her legs felt like jelly.
After she went upstairs, Damian walked to the refrigerator, pulled out a bottle of icy cold water, and drank half of it in one go. His eyes, however, remained fixed on the empty staircase.
He straightened his clothes and glanced down at the persistent ache in his groin.
He let out a short, self–deprecating laugh, then went to the front entryway to retrieve the grocery bags for dinner and started cooking.
For dinner, he made honey–glazed ribs, pineapple teriyaki pork bites, a side of sautéed seasonal greens, and a mild vegetable broth–all her favorite dishes.
He took off his apron, washed his hands, and headed upstairs to find her.

She had already showered. She was sitting cross–legged on the sofa in the sitting area, dressed in a simple black spaghetti–strap slip dress, speaking seriously on the phone. It was Hazel.
Isabelle noticed Damian the moment he entered. She tilted her head and pointed at the phone, signaling for him to be quiet.
Damian nodded, sat down on the sofa beside her, and in one smooth motion, pulled her onto his lap.
Isabelle barely stifled a yelp.
He said nothing, simply lowered his head and pressed a kiss to the curve of her shoulder.
A full–body shiver ran through her.
He hooked a finger under the thin strap of her dress and tugged it downward.
The silky fabric pooled at her waist.
“Ms. Foster, is everything okay?” Hazel’s voice came through the phone, having picked up on the strange noise.
Isabelle bit her lip, looking down at the man whose head was now buried against her chest. All she could see was the deep crown of his hair.
She wrapped one arm tightly around his neck for support and held the phone with the other. She felt breathless, overwhelmed, and a little…
“It’s nothing, please continue,” she managed, forcing her voice steady.
“Alright…”
Hazel was discussing the designs for several dresses. Isabelle had ordered a few sets previously, and after seeing the sketches, Hazel was so pleased she wanted to order several more.
The call lasted another ten minutes.
By the time it ended, Isabelle was lying back against the sofa cushions, utterly spent.
Damian didn’t take things further then. He simply adjusted her dress, gathered her close, and carried her back downstairs.
He seemed to know what she was worrying about. “There’s no one downstairs,” he murmured, his voice still gravelly with desire.
He didn’t like having staff around when he was alone with Isabelle. She was shy and couldn’t

fully relax. So whenever they were in the main living areas, the housekeepers knew to keep their distance.
Isabelle simply nodded and let herself relax against him.
“Why have you been so free lately?” she asked, changing the subject.
He had been home much more than usual these past few days. Especially today–meeting her for lunch and then picking her up in the afternoon.
There were only a few hours in between. Didn’t he have to work?
“No matter how busy I am, I still need to spoil my wife,” he said, nuzzling her neck. “If someone else snatches you away, that would be a real problem.”
As he spoke, he gave her slender waist an affectionate squeeze.
“By the way, there’s something I should tell you,” Isabelle said, thinking it was better to be upfront. It would be worse if he found out later and misunderstood.
