Chapter 401 Do You Regret It?
He had gone far beyond what Regina had asked when she told him to look after Isabelle.
A seed of love had quietly taken root in his heart.

Isabelle stared at the photo. Even though she no longer had feelings for Gary, Damian’s words still stirred a flash of anger inside
her.
Sol was just a bet to him.
Only now did she realize that.
Good thing I met Damian.
“How cruel of him,” Isabelle said.
“Your taste back then really wasn’t great,” Damian replied.
“You’re not much better yourself.” Isabelle pursed her lips.
“How can you compare me to him?” Damian sounded annoyed.
They were nothing alike.
“You mean you didn’t scheme just to get me?” She pinched his cheek.

Damian had indeed done something underhanded for Isabelle-he’d paid off the taxi driver so that when she got drunk, she would end up in his car.
He’d had a little to drink that night, not enough to be drunk, but enough for his subconscious to whisper, “If you like her, go after her.” So he’d tricked her into his car.
In the end, it was Isabelle-completely wasted-who dragged him into bed.
He hadn’t held back.
But he didn’t regret it.
“Do you regret it?” Damian asked.
“No,” Isabelle answered without hesitation, gazing at her own reflection in his deep eyes-a face now glowing with love.
She leaned down, kissed the corner of his mouth, and slid her hand under his shirt.
How could I ever regret this?
Damian’s eyes darkened. He cupped the back of her head, fingers threading through her hair as their lips met again.
He could feel her fumbling clumsily with his belt buckle.
A low chuckle escaped him, his voice rough. “You still haven’t figured it out? Needs more practice.”

isabelle’s checks flushed. Without a word, she bit his lower lip gently.
He smiled.

Still so easily shy.
She pressed her lips together and pulled off his tie.
Damian watched, curious, as she laid it over his eyes, blocking his view completely.
His throat moved. “This isn’t good…”
真
But Isabelle was already kissing him, trailing downward, slipping beneath the covers.
Damian stayed still, held captive by the tie.

Being active and being passive were two very different things-he knew that now. Back when Isabelle had bitten her lip to stay quiet, she must have felt just like he did in this moment.
He reached under the covers, his hand sliding into her hair. The air grew thick, charged, alive.

That afternoon, Bruce drove Isabelle out.
“Isabelle.” Kylie was waiting by the entrance and saw her step out of the car.
“How are you doing?” Isabelle glanced at her foot.
“It’s fine, just a slight sprain. I was better within a couple of days/back home.” Kylie grinned. “I stopped by your studio a few days ago, but didn’t see you. How’s Diana?”
Diana hadn’t come today-her leg was pretty much healed-so Isabelle had come alone.
“She’s doing well, fully recovered,” she said.
“I heard Brian’s pursuing her, isn’t that right?” Kylie leaned in, curious.
“Something like that,” Isabelle said with a light smile.
In truth, Brian and Diana had already left on their wedding trip, leaving Isabelle and Damian buried under piles of unattended work at the company and studio.
Isabelle and Kylie walked in together.
Ashley had arrived earlier, well ahead of time, and had already finished reviewing designs with Beatrice. She was about to leave.
She’d timed her visit carefully to avoid running into Isabelle, but Beatrice had deliberately kept her longer-Ashley couldn’t refuse.
So just as she was leaving, she crossed paths with Isabelle.
“Hi, Ashley,” Kylie said politely.
Isabelle offered no expression in return.

ylie wasn’t surprised this time. She’d heard about the tension between Ashley and Isabelle in their circles-them keeping their
distance was no secret
But since both were senior figures, Kylie still offered a courteous hello.
Ashley gave a slight nod, her gaze shadowed as it settled on Isabelle, eyes sharp with resentment.
She wore a mask, no makeup, her complexion noticeably duller. What looked like the tail end of a scar was visible beneath one eye.
Even her clothes seemed thrown on carelessly, her hair barely styled.
Isabelle glanced her way, then turned and walked past without a word.
Ashley’s hands balled into fists at her sides. She stood there, unable to quell the fury burning through her.
That night at Laurel Valley, Dylan had slapped her over and over-she never even got a chance to fight back.
By the end, not only was her face swollen, but Dylan’s hand had gone numb from hitting her.
Her pretty face stayed red and puffy for days, eyes nearly swollen shut.
And that wasn’t all. On her way back, she’d been attacked by street thugs. A knife had slashed across her face, leaving a deep gash, and she’d lost the baby. 2
Who else could have done this but them?
Her face was ruined. Already swollen, now scarred-it was like being pinned to a cutting board, slashed again and again, powerless
to resist.
