Chapter 465 A Sperm Donor’s Underhanded Visit
The cufflinks were understated and elegant, a perfect match for his light blue shirt.
He turned his head to look at the woman whose breathing had settled into a steady rhythm and smiled.
It might not have been extravagantly expensive, but it was enough to fill him with a quiet, genuine warmth.
It had been so long since Isabelle had given him a gift.
When it came to Damian, she had always held a part of herself back–cautious, measured, guarded.
It was only recently that Damian had begun to understand just how deep her trust issues ran.
The incident with Ashley had nearly shattered her.
Any hint of being undervalued, any whisper that made her feel unloved, was enough to make her withdraw completely.

When Isabelle got up and walked into the main office, Damian and Gareth were seated on the sofa, deep in conversation. Brian wasn’t there, and the coffee table was scattered with project proposals.
Damian hadn’t signed any of them—and he had no intention to.
Seeing Isabelle emerge, Damian smoothly wrapped up the discussion.
He stood and walked over to her. “I’ve still got a mountain of work. Should I have Bruce take you to the studio? Diana called earlier -sounded like she was drowning. I also heard Beatrice has been trying to reach you.”
Beatrice’s birthday was approaching.
Isabelle checked her phone. It was on silent—Damian must have switched it off while she was sleeping.
But there were no missed calls from either Diana or Beatrice.
Isabelle nodded. “Alright.”
“I’ll pick you up tonight.” Damian gently took her hand and walked her to the private elevator.
Behind them, Gareth was left hanging, without a chance to get another word in.
“Mr. Cross, I’ll take my leave as well. I do hope you’ll reconsider the proposal we discussed.” Gareth forced a polished, professional
smile.
He hated having to be so deferential, but he had no choice–he maintained the courteous, businesslike facade.
Collaborating with Cypher Group, no matter how small the project, was viewed as a golden ticket into the inner circles of every major industry.
But Damian was proving immovable. After talking in circles for nearly an hour, there had been zero progress.
Hearing Damian mention Diana earlier, Gareth realized she worked with isabelle–so it couldn’t be some fly–by–night operation. He. quickly made his excuses to leave.

He wanted to see exactly where Diana worked.
After Damian saw Isabelle off, Gareth hurried over to offer a final goodbye.
Damian gave a slight, non–committal nod. “Another time, Mr. Williams.”
Gareth nodded, shook his hand, and left the executive suite. He rushed down to the underground garage and began tailing
Isabelle’s car.
Bruce, behind the wheel, noticed Gareth following them–sneaky and persistent.
This was the same man Dylan had just met with, now doggedly trailing the car.
When they pulled up in front of the studio, Diana and Bonita were outside cleaning up debris left from an earlier photo shoot.
“Cleaner Diana, pick up the pace. At this rate, dinner will be cold before you finish,” Isabelle teased as she stepped out of the car.
Not far off, Gareth heard “Cleaner“, and the frown between his brows deepened.
A fresh wave of irritation washed over him.
so young, and here she was, doing grunt work as a cleaner at some boutique?
Today, at least, she looked somewhat presentable, dressed in neat, casual clothes. Seeing the “Isadiana Studio” sign, he paused. Right–working in a custom design shop, image mattered.
Diana had a master’s degree, and here she was doing manual labor. What a waste of a good education.
Hearing Isabelle call out, Diana straightened up, a hand pressed to the small of her back, and shot her a mock glare. “We are definitely hiring a cleaning service starting tomorrow,” she muttered.
“And paying for it out of your salary?”
“Wouldn’t be the worst trade–off,” Diana retorted, tossing the broom aside before heading inside to collapse into a lobby chair.
Gareth didn’t catch any of their exchange.
He simply concluded Diana was the same as ever–utterly unchanged. No surprise she’d ended up in a place like this after all these
years.
Still, she had her assets–she’d inherited his decent looks and that willowy figure.
It was probably the only reason a man like Brian had shown any interest.
