Chapter 495 The Gowns Sabotaged Once More
Diana frowned—she had been anxious about this high–profile order from the start.

It wasn’t just a major contract; it was for Beatrice. If anything went wrong, securing prestigious commissions in the future would become significantly harder.
Isabelle glanced at Bruce, who was driving. “Bruce, did you bring the item I asked for?”
Bruce replied, “Yes. I’ll show you how it works once we’ve parked.”
Diana asked, “What is it?”

Isabelle offered a reassuring smile. “You’ll see soon enough. Let’s assess the situation first.”
When Isabelle and Diana arrived at Crowther Villa, several household staff members were lined up in the foyer, being quietly reprimanded by the butler.
Harper stood among them.
Beatrice approached the designers, her demeanor composed.
“My apologies for the inconvenience. Would you be able to see if these can possibly be restored?”
Beatrice spoke gently, without a trace of accusation in her tone.
Regardless of where the fault lay–whether in the studio’s craftsmanship or elsewhere–Beatrice’s gracious attitude was commendable. She had every right to be upset or demanding, yet she maintained her poise.
Even with the damaged gowns, her expression showed no sign of irritation.
Isabelle responded, “Please, there’s no need for formalities, Mrs./Crowther. Let’s first take a close look at the dresses.”
Beatrice led them into the spacious dressing room, where two gowns were laid out on a central table.
Beatrice carefully held up one dress, turning the underarm seam inside out. This one gave way here–the seam split when I simply raised my arm after putting it on. The other is the cheongsam; the slit near the thigh has come undone quite extensively. And i assure you, I haven’t gained that much weight…”
Isabelle and Diana washed their hands, pulled on fresh cotton gloves, and began their examination
There were no clean cut marks on the fabric. If this was intentional sabotage, the high–quality thread they used would have required significant, deliberate force to break.
isabelle said, “Mrs. Crowther, both dresses are absolutely repairable. We are truly sorry this happened. Please allow us to make amends—we won’t charge for these two garments. If you trust us, we can repair them on–site and restore them to perfect condition. What do you think…”
Diana glanced at isabelle, about to interject, but Isabelle gently grasped her wrist, signaling her to wait
Beatrice smiled warmly. “I invited you here precisely hoping they could be fixed. You should stiti receive your fee: I’m only sorry for the extra trouble this causes you.

It’s no trouble at all. But we would appreciate one thing–we work best without interruptions.”
“That can certainly be arranged, Beatrice assured them.
Beatrice had a quiet adjacent sitting room prepared for them.
Once they were alone, Diana whispered, “Two dresses, worth well over six figures… and you’re just writing them off?”

Isabelle’s smile was knowing. “Did you see the frayed thread ends? They weren’t snipped with scissors. Someone meticulously picked them apart. This was deliberate. If we fix them and Beatrice wears them tomorrow, our saboteur will likely try again. Isn’t that their goal–to see us fail publicly?”
Diana listened, the pieces starting to click into place. “Even so, that’s a huge financial hit for us.”
“We’ll address the compensation, but not directly right now.” Isabelle smoothed the dress on the table. “First, let’s focus on the
work.”
Though not entirely convinced, Diana agreed that fixing the dresses was the immediate priority. They couldn’t let two outfits tarnish the studio’s hard–earned reputation.
Threading their needles with matching silk thread, they set to work.
The two women sat in concentrated silence for over two hours. After completing the meticulous repairs, they carefully inspected every other garment in the order, fearing further tampering.
“I’m going to find the restroom,” Diana said, standing up to stretch before leaving the room.
Upon her return, it was Isabelle’s turn for a break.
On her way out, Isabelle encountered Harper in the hallway.
Harper quietly steered her toward an alcove. “It wasn’t me,” she said firmly.
Isabelle met her gaze calmly. “I know.”
Harper seemed taken aback. “You don’t suspect me?”
“The thought crossed my mind, but I couldn’t find a logical motive for you. Not if you’re as intelligent as you seem.”
Harper paused, momentarily speechless at Isabelle’s directness. “There’s something else you should know.”
“I’m listening.” Isabelle focused her attention fully on Harper.
