Chapter 499 Meticulous Repairs Save Cherished Creations
The maid who was responsible for the preparations in the room immediately paled with anxiety.
“But… they were perfectly fine yesterday after the repairs…” she stammered, her voice trembling.

She had already been reprimanded over this issue the day before. Last night, she had even arranged for someone to keep watc yet here the dresses were, damaged again.
And the damage was in precisely the same places as before.
“Are you certain they were properly mended yesterday?” asked another maid with delicate features from beside her.
Isabelle and Diana glanced at her but remained silent.
The first maid lifted her chin slightly, her tone firm. “Bianca, you and I were the last to check these last night. We both confirmed the repairs were flawless before we left the room.”
“Oh, I’d forgotten about that,” Bianca replied, a faint, unconvincing smile touching her lips.
Isabelle and Diana exchanged a knowing look.
Just then, Beatrice arrived, having been summoned. The gentle patience she had shown the previous day was gone from her expression.
Yesterday’s incident had already tried her patience. Today was her birthday, and all she wanted was to look her best and enjoy the celebration. Having trouble with the gowns two days in a row was beyond frustrating.
She shot a questioning glance toward Isabelle. Isabelle had been/here to inspect the repairs herself last night. Since neither Isabelle nor Diana lived on the premises, the saboteur was almost certainly someone within her own household.
Isabelle stepped forward and took Beatrice’s hand. She understood the woman’s suspicions and her urge to act, but she gently stopped her.
“The dresses are damaged, and that’s our current reality,” Isabelle said calmly. “We actually brought two alternate gowns with us today. Diana will accompany you to try them on. Let’s not dwell on the rest for the moment.”
Beatrice frowned. With the final frantic preparations for tonight’s gala already underway, she truly didn’t have the time to launch an investigation.
Hearing they had brought replacements, she gathered they had anticipated trouble.
Diana, catching her cue, took the garment boxes from Bruce and followed Beatrice toward her private suite. Isabelle turned her attention to the two maids remaining in the room. “You may both return to your duties.” Once they were alone, isabelle had Bruce retrieve the tiny concealed camera from its hiding spot in the cate “Please keep this secure,” she instructed. “Also, keep a discreet eye on that maid named Bianca from earlier.
Bruce nodded. “Understood.”
Isabelle examined the

After tidying the workspace, Isabelle sat down. “Bruce, please wait outside now. Don’t allow anyone else to enter.“”
Bruce looked puzzled. “But they already have the replacement gowns. Are you still planning to repair these two?”

Isabelle opened the specialized sewing kit she had brought. “Of course I am. The replacements are just that–replacements. The two were custom–designed for Mrs. Crowther. It would be a genuine shame if she couldn’t wear them. A woman deserves to have few truly special dresses in her lifetime that she absolutely adores.”
Bruce didn’t fully grasp the sentiment, but he obeyed, stepping outside to stand guard by the door.
Bianca happened to walk down the corridor opposite. Bruce recognized her immediately.
Catching his gaze, Bianca, visibly uneasy, averted her eyes and hurried away.
Meanwhile, Diana was assisting Beatrice with the alternate gowns. Beatrice was thoroughly pleased with the backup options and even inquired about their price.
Though Diana’s heart clenched at the thought of the cost, she remembered Isabelle’s words. “These two were originally the showcase pieces of the collection, not really meant for sale. Isabelle said if they found the right person to wear them, it would be the gowns‘ good fortune.
“After what happened yesterday, we felt terrible. We poured day and night into those designs. It was deeply disappointing that they couldn’t be worn as intended.”
Hearing this, Beatrice’s mood softened considerably.
She took Diana’s hands in hers. “How rare to find two young women as thoughtful as you and Isabelle. It’s a true pity… that you’re both already married.”
She sighed, her thoughts drifting to her own son, still unmarried at thirty.
Her comment held a subtle hint, a hope that Diana might have some news about Kylie.
Diana simply smiled and said, “Mr. Crowther hasn’t found the right match yet because the best is often saved for last. Please don’t worry. With your graciousness, your future daughter–in–law is sure to be someone truly remarkable.”
Beatrice offered a somewhat resigned smile, understanding Diana’s diplomatic meaning.
The subject was gently dropped.
After Beatrice finished with the fittings, she assigned a dedicated attendant to watch over the new gowns to prevent any further incidents.
