Daisy glanced at the black umbrella in her hand. What does this have to do with me? Why is it about me again? Her car was right there, and the rain wasn’t heavy yet. A quick jog over wouldn’t get her soaked

Daisy drove, while Lynn sat in the passenger seat, looking utterly miserable.

“You’ve been married for one day and you’re already like this? Was getting married absolutely necessary Daisy asked.

Lynn forced a smile. “I have you to thank for that. You said he was a good man, and I just grabbed my ID and went downstairs. I don’t know when you brainwashed me.”

Daisy gave a bitter laugh. “Girl, if you didn’t like him at all, why would you be in such a hurry? You were scared he’d change his mind, so you ran off to tell him you’d get the certificate.”

Lynn definitely had feelings for Lucas. There was no way she’d rush to get a marriage certificate just because of what someone else said.

She just wasn’t ready to admit it to herself yet.

Daisy wasn’t convinced. “How can life be the same with anyone? You make it sound like you’re just settling. Lucas isn’t just ‘decent‘; he’s one of the best out there.”

Lynn retorted, “Lucas is a player. He hasn’t had a girlfriend, but I bet he’s slept with plenty of people…”

Daisy was speechless.

Then Lynn reconsidered. Actually, that doesn’t seem right either. Otherwise, why couldn’t Lucas undo my bra last night?

But if he hadn’t slept with anyone, Lucas gave off the vibe of someone with a lot of experience.
