Chapter 620 Eavesdropping
Chapter 620 Eavesdropping
Lynn was taken aback. Does she really know him?
The foreign girl sniffed and complained, “He’s handsome, but I’d recognize him dead or alive!
“What happened? Did something occur?”

As they exited the elevator, Lynn, eager to hear about Lucas‘ romantic adventures, casually trailed behind.
“Men from your country are truly devoted.”
“Tell me more.”
The foreign girl plopped onto the sofa and began chatting with her friend.
Lynn sat secretly behind them and could hear clearly.
One said. “That guy really is staying here. His wife is with him.”
The other replied, sounding a little disappointed. “He’s married?”
“He is, and quite the romantic.” One chuckled. “Last night I was on the night shift. He came and asked me to take him to nearby sheep farms to look for sheep. I didn’t want to go, but my manager made me. He tipped well.”
“Why did he need sheep at night?”
“His wife had hung her scarf on a sheep and forgot to take it. Then the sheep ran off.”
“It’s just a scarf. Why bother going door to door at night? Lots of people raise sheep around here.”
“Right? That’s what I said. But he insisted. That’s why I say men from your country are the most devoted. He said the scarf was a matching pair with the first gift his wife ever gave him. If hers was lost, keeping his would be pointless.”
“Seriously? Not only is he handsome, but he’s so devoted too.”
“Exactly. I had to run around with him to several places, and I caught a cold on the way back.”
“His wife is so lucky.”
“Definitely!”
They chatted enthusiastically.
Lynn sat behind them, listening, and realized she had unknowingly caused Lucas so much trouble.
It had snowed last night. He’d run around to several places, and his coat had reeked of sheep. But he wouldn’t give up on that scarf.

Chapter 620 Eavesdropping
The scarf around Lucas‘ neck was indeed the first real gift Lynn had ever given him.
Now Lynn felt guilty.

It was such an ordinary scarf. And the one lost was hers. Yet he’d gone to all that trouble to find it.
All because they were a couple’s set:
“He’s here! He’s here!”
The girl whispered to her friend, urging her to lower her voice.
The foreign girl glanced behind her.
Lynn was listening intently when Lucas walked in with Lynn’s scarf draped over his arm.
He spotted Lynn immediately and walked straight to her.
“Lynn.”
Lynn forgot to answer for a moment.
She was still lost in the girls‘ conversation, imagining Lucas running around looking for sheep and a scarf.
The girl sat up straighter.
“Is he calling you?” the foreign girl asked, looking at her.
The girl’s name was Linnea Quigley. Her nickname sounded a bit like “Lynn.”
“I don’t know.” She felt nervous, having just learned he was married.
Just as she thought he was coming for her, Lucas stopped in front of Lynn.
Linnea felt a bit disappointed but quickly recovered, sneaking a glance at Lynn.
It was the girl from the elevator! She had been following them the whole time.
This was incredibly awkward. She’d been eyeing someone else’s husband, and now she was being followed by his wife. She’d really made a complete fool of herself.
Linnea quickly dragged her friend away.
“What are you spacing out for?” Lucas asked, leaning down to pinch Lynn’s cheek.
“I thought you’d gone somewhere else. You took so long,” she replied softly.
Lucas smiled, sat beside her, and wrapped the scarf around her neck.
Be more careful from now on. Don’t lose things. At home it’s one thing, but now we’re abroad. If you lose something here, it’s hard to get back.”
