Chapter 650 Have a Late–Night Meal
Daisy picked up her spoon and started eating.
“Aren’t you sleeping?” she asked between bites.
“I can’t sleep. I’m used to it,” replied Anthuny.

She nodded. She knew a bit about Anthony’s situation. After six months of fake dating, she’d picked up some things.
He basically didn’t sleep at night.
“You should still try to get some rest. Otherwise you’ll be exhausted tomorrow,” Daisy said softly.
Tomorrow she was bringing him home to meet her parents. She’d told him the night before, and he’d agreed. It was about time she did this–she couldn’t put it off much longer, especially not as her pregnancy progressed.
Anthony looked over at her and nodded.
Daisy couldn’t finish her meal. She’d only eaten four pierogi, leaving more than half uneaten. She sipped some soup and wiped her mouth.
Anthony asked, “Would you like more?”
She shook her head.
“Go rest for a bit. Take your time falling back asleep.” Anthony moved the table in front of himself.
“Okay.” Daisy put on her shoes and walked back to her room.
Suddenly, she remembered something and turned back.
As soon as she stepped out, she saw Anthony eating the pierogi she had left behind.
He paused and glanced at her.
“Get up at nine tomorrow, leave at ten,” she instructed, feigning composure.
“Okay.”
She glanced at the spoon he was using–the same one she’d held earlier–then turned and retreated to her room, burrowing under the covers.
Anthony stared at the pierogi on his plate and kept eating.
Once he’d tidied up, he turned off the living room light, went back to his room, and lay down on the bed.
He stared up at the ceiling, unable to fall asleep, yet forced his eyes shut. Even if he couldn’t drift off, he could at least rest.

Chapter 650 Have a Late–Night Meal
At half past nine, seeing that Daisy still hadn’t gotten up, he knocked on her door
“I’m up! Just a second!” came Daisy’s flustered voice from inside.
“No rush.” Anthony smiled softly.
Ten minutes later, Daisy came out fully dressed. She clearly hadn’t slept well.
Anthony had already made breakfast.
“You got up at nine?” she asked as she sat down to cat.
“Yes.”
Daisy smiled. He really did what she said.
“Did you sleep at all?” she asked.
“I did.”
“Did you fall asleep?”
“No.”
Daisy hadn’t expected such honesty. “Are you not used to the bed?”
“Not that. I’m used to not sleeping.”
“That’s a bad habit,” Daisy muttered.
“I’ll try to change it. Anthony said.
After breakfast, Daisy searched through the boxes on the cabinet.
“When you opened the packages, did you see a small white box?”
Anthony stepped over and pulled out the small white box she’d hidden away.
Inside lay a pair of cufflinks.

He hadn’t expected her to have bought him anything at all. He knew she was only using him as a fake boyfriend for her family, but he hadn’t realized she’d even staged fake surprises for her Instagram.
Truth be told, he was actually quite curious about her Instagram posts.
The cufflinks weren’t expensive–she’d only picked them up to take a photo, making it look like she’d gotten them for him as a gift.
But now they came in perfectly useful
She was taking hun home to meet her parents, and he needed to be wearing something from her.

Otherwise, the lies would be too easy to pick apart.
Daisy looked at him. “Can you wear that suit? And that tie?”
“Sure.”

Anthony retreated to his room, changed into the suit, and fastened the tie that had once blindfolded Daisy. His fingers brushed the fabric, and the tips of his ears burned faintly pink. Ever since that night she’d crossed his mind more times than he cared to admit.
Daisy was perched on the sofa, tapping out an update to Joseph, when Anthony stepped out. She rose to her feet at once and held out the cufflinks. “These too.”
Anthony gave them a brief glance and extended his wrist. Daisy hesitated for a beat, then dropped her gaze and fastened them with careful, deliberate movements.
Anthony’s eyes fell to her hands.
Long, slender fingers, neatly trimmed nails, soft and delicately shaped.
He’d never held them.
His gaze traveled upward and stopped at her lips.
He’d never kissed her either.
