Chapter 815 Bar Encounter
Chapter 815 Bar Encounter
Claudia rushed back to the walk–in closet to change.
The moment she swung the door open, she froze in place, staring for a long while.

The set of… nightgown Chelsea had sent her before–which she’d tucked all the way in the back–was now sitting right at the front, in plain view.
She was sure she hadn’t moved it.
That could only mean one thing…
Claudia touched her cheek lightly, feeling a flush rise, and pushed the box back into the shadows.
Harold hadn’t come home tonight. She hadn’t gotten any texts from him either.
She pushed the thought aside, changed into something casual, and headed out.
By the time she reached the bar, Chelsea was already slumped over the counter, completely out of it.
“What were you thinking, drinking this much?” Claudia reached over and poked Chelsea’s cheek.
“Leave me alone… just let me wallow for a minute,” Chelsea mumbled into her arms. “That jerk stole my comic.”
Joseph stood nearby with an easy smile. “She’s been crying on and off all night. Didn’t actually have that many drinks, but no way she’s walking home like this. Didn’t want anyone taking advantage, so I called you.”
“Thanks, Joseph,” Claudia said.
He just nodded. This kind of thing happened often enough at the bar.
Claudia slid onto the stool beside Chelsea. “Want me to take you home?”
“Home where?” Chelsea lifted her head abruptly. “I can’t go to your place–Harold would never let me in. And if I go back to my parents‘, my dad would kill me. They still don’t know I draw comics.”
“Then how about I get you a room nearby?”
As soon as Claudia suggested it, Chelsea dropped her head back down. “I’ve made it over twenty years without ever spending a night in a hotel by myself.”
Claudia sighed. “What’s going on? Why the sudden binge?”
Tears welled up in Chelsea’s eyes again. “My comic started getting traction… and that thief copied the whole thing, posted it on another platform, and now it’s even bigger than mine. I tried to report it, but there’s nothing they can do–they’re using all these loopholes. What am I supposed to do?”
Claudia knew Chelsea drew steamy romance comics on the side–the kind she never talked about

“What’ll it be?” Joseph called out as Sebastian walked in. “Well, look at you–actually stopping by my place?”
“Just passing through,” Sebastian said, his eyes resting on the familiar figure seated ahead of him.
He stepped right up behind Claudia. “I’ll just have the usual.”
Claudia didn’t notice him at first, focused on comforting Chelsea. “I know a lawyer from Trustwin Law really sharp. Want me to put you in touch?”
“Guy or girl? And how well do you know him?” Chelsea asked, sniffling.
“A guy. Not that well, honestly.”
Chelsea made a face and took a sip of the fresh orange juice Joseph had just set in front of her. “A guy? That’s… kind of awkward, don’t you think?”
Asking a male lawyer to help with something like this–a comic that would make most people blush–was beyond embarrassing.
Claudia pressed her lips together. She’d seen the first few pages of Chelsea’s comic. It was… definitely spicy.
But she didn’t know any female lawyers well enough to refer.
“You don’t know him personally anyway, and he’s good at what he does. He can help,” Claudia reassured her. “Lawyers don’t share client details. You don’t have to worry about that.”
Just behind Claudia, Sebastian took a slow sip of his drink, a faint smile touching his lips.
Joseph watched the three of them, said nothing, and quietly moved down the bar to serve another
customer.
“As long as we’re not close… I’d die if people found out,” Chelsea sighed.
Wanting to act before Chelsea forgot, Claudia pulled up Sebastian’s contact and shared it via text.
Chelsea sent the friend request right away.
And immediately, from right behind Claudia, a phone pinged with a notification.
She finally turned. “Mr. Vale…?”
“Huh?” Chelsea blinked, following her gaze.
Well, there was no avoiding it now.
Sebastian picked up his phone, accepted the request, finished his drink in one smooth motion, and said to Chelsea, “Message me when you’re sober.”
Then he stood and walked out.
