Chapter 243 Daddy, Come Save Me
*Finished
“Your husband doesn’t love you. There’s no point asking his permission,” Kyre said with a cold snort. His voice dripped with confidence and disdain. “I’m taking ou home myself. Don’t make this harder than it has to be.”
Beside him, Drenvar kept calling Blake on the optical computer. He called once, twice, three times. On the fourth try, the video call was switched to audio.
Before he could speak, a rough voice-definitely not Blake’s-came through, thick with a stuffy nose.
“General Kenobia is busy. If you need him, call again in n hour.”
Drenvar sank.
That voice… why did it sound familiar?
He didn’t have time to figure it out.
Because Sylvara shot toward him, clutching the wyvern egg, yelling at the top of her lungs. “Mister! Call daddy! Someone’s trying to kidnap me and force me to quit school!”
Drenvar’s hand shook so hard he almost hung up. He stared at Sylvara, stunned.
Her dad was General Kenobia?
He had guessed she might have some connection to the royal family.
But this was far beyond anything he imagined.
It turned out she was General Kenobia’s beloved daughter.
No wonder the general had been sick for years, staying inside the palace. No meetings. No speeches. Barely any posts on the Starnet. Then, out of nowhere, he personally ordered the five major military academies to run joint training this year-and even came all the way Here himself to serve as Operations Chief. All of it. Every single thing. It was for his daughter.
Other people have daughters, and they brag to the whole empire. But Blake kept his daughter hidden so well that not even a whisper leaked out.
That’s what made a general difference. Normal people couldn’t understand the way they operated.
Kyre’s expression shifted, growing more and more uneasy. His eyes locked on Drenvar, stiff and sharp.
Did this man really have the contact number of that little brat Sylvara’s father? Impossible. Her useless parents had been missing for ages. There was never any news from them.
Sylvara heard the voice on the call. Inside her heart, she threw a victory sign.
Since she couldn’t figure out what kind of NFS Blake actually was, it was fine.
If Blake liked pretending to be a big, tough man, then she’d play along and call Blake Daddy.
Let that non-human troublemaker choke on the annoyance. Let her see how it feels.
If they were going to drive each other crazy, then come on. She’s not afraid of anything.

Sylvara gave herself a quick thumbs-up in her head, then poured fuel on the fire. She raised her voice and cried out, “Mister, say something! Hurry up and get my daddy to save me! If he doesn’t, his cute, pretty, amazing daughter is about to get dragged away by a bad uncle. Then he won’t have a sweetheart anymore!”
“Y-you shut up!”
“Sweetheart, are you being taken?” Blake’s raspy voice cu through Relos’s words. She didn’t sound much better than he did.
“Yes, Daddy!” Sylvara froze for half a second, then made her voice even sweeter. No wonder this little pretender fooled everyone-her disguise work was flawless. Even her voice sounded perfect. It made sense she hadn’t been exposed after all these years. “The bad guy is getting ready to grab me! Daddy, what are you doing? Why is your breathing so unsteady?”
Blake choked on this. She clenched her teeth and said, “weetheart, Daddy is training a bunch of stubborn recruits. Do you want to join me?”
“I want to watch you train them, Daddy, but the bad guy is making me drop out of school. I think he’s goin to lock me up.” Sylvara sounded innocent enough to melt butter. “If I get locked up, how can I see how handsome you look when you train all those rookie soldiers?”
“Daddy, maybe save me first? After that, I’ll bring the hopping little egg you gave me and come watch you train the recruits!”
Blake’s rough voice cracked with excitement. “I-it can hop now?”
Sylvara hummed lightly and leaned into the act. “Not only can it hop, Daddy, but it’s way more reliable than you. It sensed a creepy man trying to grab me, so it smashed both his eyes until he looked like he got head- butted by an Ironfur Beast. Isn’t that amazing?”
“A-amazing.” Blake paused, then grunted, “Where is the creepy uncle taking you?”
“Probably Centria,” Sylvara said. “The Mordrels are old nobles. Their main estate is on Centria.” Blake let out a strange, low groan.
“So it’s Centria.” Blake continued, “I thought he was dragging you to the Fourth Civilization.”
She continued, firm and sure, “Come on then. I’ll wait for you on Centria. Come watch how handsome I am while training the recruits.”
“Daddy, wait-”
Sylvara wanted to say a few more words, but Blake had already hung up.
She didn’t even pretend to want to talk longer.
What an unqualified Daddy. One day she’d eat her precious Eggy right in front of Blake just to spite her.
Sylvara sniffed lightly, hiding her amusement. Then she turned to the stunned Drenvar with polite calm and said, “Mr. Stone, don’t bother with my withdrawal paperwork. My daddy told me to go with Mr. Mordrel.”
