Drenvar froze for half a minute before he finally reacted. He pinched his arm. Ouch!

The pain snapped his mind back. That rough, hoarse breathing he’d heard earlier-the one that answered after the video call switched to audio-that was the Emperor’s voice.

The Emperor and General Kenobia had been together, training a batch of rookie soldiers for the country, when my call

cut in.

His Majesty sounded annoyed-very annoyed. It felt like he was scolding General Kenobia again. Poor General Kenobia! He was taking the hits meant for me.

Drenvar sucked in a cold breath.

His Majesty might be kind to the people and famous for his achievements, but he was a graduate of the First Military Academy. Under that calm face was a ruthless streak.

Interrupting him during training was like stepping on a land mine. He even disciplined Blake. What would he do to a small fry like me?

“Withdraw her. I’m pulling her out of school.” Kyre snapped.

Still caught in his panic about Relos’s possible revenge, Drenvar heard Kyre jump in, eager and impatient. Kyre lifted his chin like a proud noble and ordered, “Withdraw her now. I’m taking her home and back to Centria.”

Drenvar stared at him. Clearly, this man hadn’t recognized Relos’s voice. He had no idea that the call had originally been meant for Blake.

And he definitely didn’t know Sylvara was Blake’s treasured daughter. He only claimed to be her relative, but judging by what Drenvar saw, “relative” was starting to look more like a “scammer”.

“Mr. Mordrel, you aren’t her legal guardian.”

“It’s fine, Mr. Stone. Just process the withdrawal.” Sylvara blinked at Drenvar, cutting him off with a calm voice. Then she turned to Kyre and asked, “But, Mr. Modrel, are you sure the school won’t notify my guardian if you file a withdrawal?”

Drenvar caught her signal instantly. Ah. I’d underestimated her. General Kenobia’s daughter isn’t a harmless pushover.

Back at the training field, she had taken her father down That alone proved she was a hidden predator- sharp teeth, claws, everything.

“Alright,” Drenvar said. “I’ll file the withdrawal-”

“Hold on!” Kyre hurriedly stopped him. Sylvara was right. If a student is withdrawn, the primary guardian would get an instant alert. Even if Agares didn’t love her he would definitely call once he got the message.

If that happened, Kyre wouldn’t even get the chance to teach Sylvara a lesson. She could complain first, and his family would be done for.

Drenvar kept a fake smile and asked, “What would you like to do then, Mr. Mordrel?”

Kyre lifted his chin again. “No withdrawal. Just put her on a two-day leave. I’ll take her home to visit.”

He refused to believe that if her “Daddy” was truly somewhere on Centria, he would really let his daughter get married to just anyone.

“Then should I file the leave-of-absence request now?” renvar switched from passive to active, pressing Kyre with a polite but firm tone. “Don’t worry. Once it’s ubmitted, the approval notice will be sent straight to Sylvara’s primary guardian’s optical computer.”

Kyre choked on his breath. His face flushed in embarrassment as he glared at Drenvar. “Don’t bother! She’s only taking two days off. She’s coming home with me, and she’ll return afterward.”

He turned to Sylvara. “No need to pack. We’re in a hurry We’ll go home first. All that random stuff you own, I will buy new ones for you later.”

Sylvara thought about all the delicious food she had cooked but hadn’t eaten and the meal she still hadn’t delivered to Malcolm. It would all go to waste if she left. She let a sly smile curl at her lips. “Mr. Mordrel, ar you sure you don’t want me to pack? My dorm has a lot of good s-”

She didn’t even finish the word.

Kyre’s eyes lit up, and he said hurriedly, “I’ll go with you

“You shouldn’t worry about this.” Sylvara’s smile vanished. Her voice turned cold and stern. “I’ll go by myself. You stay here.”
