Sylvara’s lips trembled. She pointed at Blake, looking super wronged, and even dropped the formal titles and called the Emperor by his first name. “Relos, he’s glaring at me!”

Just that one “Relos.”

That was enough for Relos to be sure that this girl was Sylvara Mordrel, the one who replaced Miralys to marry Agares.

A girl who didn’t care that Agares had a fertility value of zero and still married him willingly, and someone who was very likely the new Level-7 Plant Healer everyone online talked about.

Blake didn’t expect Sylvara to go off script. To mess with him, she didn’t even care about hiding her secret identity from the Emperor anymore.

The Emperor already had a great impression of the girl who willingly registered her marriage with Agares.

Plus, after hearing Blake describe her as a “clever fox” during training, he liked her even more.

Wait.

If the Emperor knew she was Agares’s wife-the princess consort-and since he wanted Agares to be happy, then as long as Sylvara didn’t break any big rules, the Emperor would spoil her.

And if the Emperor spoiled her … Blake would be left out in the cold. Blake tried to speak, “Your Maj—”

“It’s fine if General Kenobia meant it that way,” Relos interrupted. His mood brightened instantly. He ignored Blake and stared at her with clear, misty eyes. “The Troya Empire believes in equality and free speech. Even if you insult me, I can’t chop off your head fire you, cut your pay, or kick you off to a waste planet.”

Blake had a really bad feeling.

Relos paused, bent down, and gently placed the durian on the ground. Without straightening his back, he lifted his chin a little. “I’m not petty. Since Sylvara said this durian has so many benefits, why don’t you show us how it works, General Kenobia?”

Yes!

The bastard is actually going to stand on a durian!

She’s gonna stand on a durian!

Sylvara was screaming like a happy groundhog inside.

If she had known that just calling him with his first nam would be this effective, she would’ve said it earlier. Why waste time acting like a fake, sweet innocent?

She could’ve teamed up with Relos to bully the bastard

Isn’t that wonderful?

Isn’t it?

Heck yes!

Sylvara tried to hide her grin, keeping her face lookingure and harmless like a little flower, while secretly opening her optical computer’s camera interface.

“Your Majesty…”

“What? General Kenobia, are you unwilling?”

Blake clenched her fists and looked down at the Emperor, who was still leaning over and looking up at her. “I’m willing, of course. Why wouldn’t I be?”

Relos straightened up, one hand behind his back, the other pointing at the durian in front of Blake. ‘Great. If you’re willing, then please, General Kenobia.”

Sylvara raised her hand with the optical computer, pretending to scratch her nose, while actually focusing the camera on Blake.

Blake lifted her eyes, glaring at the troublemaker-the instigator-Sylvara.

Under her stare, Sylvara took a few steps toward the Emperor and made a goofy face at Blake, totally smug.

Relos saw Blake stand still and asked, “General Kenobia, why are you staring at Sylvara? Want to hit her?”

Blake snapped her gaze away from Sylvara and looked intensely at the Emperor. “What’s there to look at? She’s just a kid. I wasn’t looking at her; I was looking at you, Your Majesty!”

“No, he did look at me. He thinks I’m up to no good.” Sylvara complained right away. She grabbed the Emperor’s sleeve and shook it like a little girl whining. “Relos, how could I have any bad intentions? I just wanted General Kenobia to show you the real use of a durian. But he glared at me like I’m evil.”

Relos met Blake’s intense stare, then quickly looked away. His usually steady voice shook just a bit. “Yeah, what bad intentions could Sylvie have? General Kenobia when are you going to fix that petty attitude of yours?”

Blake was speechless.

Great! She should’ve never brought this nightmare to the palace.

She shot herself in the foot-hurt like hell, and she couldn’t even complain!

“You’re right, Your Majesty,” Blake said through gritted teeth. “Sylvie doesn’t have any bad intentions. She just wants to watch me stand on a durian. Fine. I’ll stand Happy now?”
