Relos went quiet for a moment. Just then, the optical computer resting on his leg gave three light taps from the active call. He slowly smiled. His eyes, still damp, curved happily. “Alright,” he said gently. “I’ll go get her. You wait here.”

Inside, Sylvara’s excitement surged like a wave. On the outside, she stayed perfectly calm. She smiled sweetly. “Okay, okay. I’ll be good and wait right here for you. I promise I won’t sneak a bite.”

Relos stood up. One hand holding the optical computer rested behind his back. With the other hand, he lightly tapped her forehead. “Even if you do sneak some, it’s fine,” he said casually. “This is your home. You should relax. I’m heading out.”

Sylvara hummed in response and watched Relos leave the kitchen. She quietly made a little “yes” gesture to herself, then adjusted the optical computer and took a series of photos of the feast on the table. She was already plotting how to tease her bargain-bin husband later.

After all, Blake was in the middle of her punishment, but she could see their livestream. That meant she had probably called Agares and scolded him. Agares had probably figured out the figure Relos showed him was his wife.

The evening glow hung low in the western sky.

Golden light washed over the training grounds.

The training had already ended. A winner had emerged. The group that won-faces bruised red, blue, and purple-were all smiling as they headed toward Agares.

But the closer they got, the more something felt off.

Agares had been standing there, staring at his optical computer, for what felt like three hours. He hadn’t moved at all. He looked like a machine frozen in place.

“Leiya,” Bane said, giving his buddy a shove. “You’re today’s training champion. You get the biggest share of Mrs. Vaelor’s food. Go on, get up there.”

Caught off guard, Leiya’s heart jumped. His body tensed, and his foot slipped. Before he knew it, he was standing right in front of Agares.

Agares lifted his gaze from the endlessly looping recording on the optical computer. His eyes were deep and unreadable as he looked at Leiya. “Is there something you need?” Agares asked.

Leiya wasn’t sure what to say.

Aren’t I supposed to get the food after winning?

The food is right there, next to Agares.

And yet he’s asking if he has business?

Did the commander forget about sharing the food?

What could make him forget something like that?

Wait! He has been staring at the optical computer.

A man watching an optical computer this closely…

Is he watching porn or something?!

Holy moly! Commander has a wife now. Has he finally broadened his mind and started to study all this stuff?

“Since you’re standing there and saying nothing, you probably have plenty of energy,” Agares said flatly. “Go run another 20 miles.”

Leiya had no words.

What? No food?

He makes me run?

Agares’s voice dropped. “Leiya. Why are you still standing there? Do you need me to escort you?”

Leiya snapped to attention by instinct. “No, Commander. I’ll carry out the order immediately.”

He bolted off without another word, completely forgetting about the food.

Bane wiped sweat from his forehead in relief. He exchanged a look with the others, and no one dared step forward again.

As Leiya ran off, Agares’s gaze swept over the group standing not far away, His body suddenly

went stiff.

From Blair, Agares learned the truth. Relos had video-called him earlier, and he saw the rounded hips and long legs on the screen. They belonged to his young wife. The heat he had barely forced down surged up again. The tips of his ears turned red.

He replayed the recorded video and lost track of time. He even forgot that the winner of this training was supposed to receive food made by his wife.

Sylvara waited cagerly for a long, long time. At last, that bastard finally arrived.

Sylvara had imagined many things. Maybe she would wear a tulle gown to hide her thighs.
