“Whether we’re a good match or not, let’s put that aside for now,” Sylvara said, her eyes shining as she looked at Blake. “I have a very important question, and I urgently need your answer.”
Blake had both hands on the aircraft controls. “What question?”
Sylvara grinned. “Daddy, between you and Relos, who’s on top, and who’s on the bottom?”
Clang!
The aircraft jolted in midair.
Blake smiled calmly at her. “What do you think?”
How would she know?
That was exactly why she asked, okay?
The two of them soon returned to the palace.
Sylvara kicked off her high heels and rushed straight into the bathroom.
When she came out, her long hair was still half-dry. She flopped onto Agares’s bed, the one he had slept in for decades.
She rolled around on it with Eggy.
Eggy rolled especially hard, spinning back and forth several times.
Sylvara only rolled twice. Just as she stopped, her optical computer flashed.
She lifted it to take a look, and her heart jumped. In one smooth motion, she sat up cross- legged.
Agares was calling her on video.
Wait!
What was going on?
Why would Agares suddenly start a video call?
This is odd.
Should she answer it or not?

Sylvara thought for three seconds. Then she tapped the screen, switched the video call to voice only, and answered. Her voice turned soft and sweet, deliberately lazy, like she had just woken up. “Honey”
Agares instantly tensed. His voice came out low and hoarse. “Why didn’t you answer the video. call?”
Oh no. This was bad.
Her disguises got blown.
Sylvara’s alarm bells went off in her head. She softened her voice even more, dangerously charming. “I didn’t refuse your video call. I was just sleeping. Honey, did you want me to turn on the video to check if I’m in your bed?”
Agares froze. There was a brief pause. Then his breathing hitched, and the tips of his ears quietly turned red. Very seriously, he corrected her. “In the palace, that bed was mine. You’re staying in it now, and the bedding has already been changed. I haven’t been back for 10 years. Strictly speaking, it’s not my bed.”
Sylvara pulled the blanket up and twisted his words on purpose. “Oh, so you mean I should go to Kolar planet and sleep in your bed there?”
“Cough! Cough!” Agares suddenly started coughing. The sound came through the optical computer.
Sylvara silently flashed a victory sign.
Disguise blown? Impossible.
Her bargain-bin husband’s emotional intelligence had clearly been devoured by his IQ.
She hadn’t even teased him properly yet, and he was already overwhelmed.
There was no way he could recognize her disguised.
“Honey,” Sylvara asked sweetly, poking right at the edge of danger, “do you really want me to come find you that badly?”
Agares finally stopped coughing. His voice was rough, and his tone extremely serious. “Stop acting cute.”
That bargain-bin husband was just too cute.
The little figure in Sylvara’s heart was dancing like crazy.

A man who was pure, proper, morally solid, tall, handsome, and rich-where else could you find someone like that? There was no way she would ever divorce him. Absolutely no chance.
Just flirting with him a little every day made the sunshine brighter and the air feel fresher.
“I didn’t lie-”
“Sweetheart!”
Blake’s voice suddenly rang out from the outer room.
Sylvara’s heart jumped. Her voice instantly turned soft and sweet. “Honey, I didn’t sleep well. I’m still so sleepy. I’ll call you after I wake up, okay? Bye.”
Agares said nothing.
Did his mentor just call her sweetheart?
Agares stared at the optical screen that had already gone dark. He didn’t look away for a long time, until Auren stepped in and broke the silence. “Commander, we’ve received reliable information,” Auren said. “At the Cryo Planet auction house, ancient Earth seeds with no mutations have appeared. And there’s also a saber.”
“A saber?” “Yes. The saber once belonged to a war goddess from 3,000 years ago. Legend says she possessed every known ability except spatial control. Even after 3,000 years, the auction house reports that the saber still holds massive mental energy and a strong sense of pressure.”
A saber!
A sharp image flashed through Agares’s mind-someone wielding a saber, clean and fearless.
His fingers tapped against his knee. After a moment, he lifted his eyes and looked straight at Auren. “Prepare disguise equipment. In three hours, we’re heading to Cryo Planet.”
“Sweetheart,” Blake said as she walked in. Her very first sentence stabbed Sylvara right in the heart. “You’re lying alone in bed, wide awake, lonely, and miserable. Is that really fun?”
Sylvara grabbed Eggy, who was still rolling around on the bed, and hurled it at Blake. “Daddy! Tonight I’m going to eavesdrop at your room. I don’t care how you try to stop me. I will listen.”
Eggy flew toward Blake, but just before hitting her, it zipped back in a flash, dropped onto the bed, burrowed under the blanket, and played dead.
Blake didn’t feel insulted at all. She smiled wide. “Oh my, sweetheart. You know, no matter how much theory you know, without real practice it’s useless. Go on. Stay here and be jealous of me day and night.”
