Chapter 297 The Perfect Disguise
But that was only a thought.
No one knew Blake’s true form.

If Sylvara hadn’t felt an egg-like pulse in Blake’s heartbeat, she would have seriously suspected the egg belonged to Relos instead.
Otherwise, it made no sense. As the real parent, how could Eggy dislike Blake so much? It went against basic biology.
“Alright,” Relos said after a moment. “I’ll watch it for ten days. After that, I’ll have someone send it back to you.” Since Sylvara had asked so sincerely and whatever was inside the egg clearly wasn’t going to hatch anytime soon, this was the safest choice.
.”Thank you,” Sylvara smiled as she bowed. “I’ll head out now. When I’m on break, I’ll come visit
again.”
Relos hummed in reply and watched as Sylvara and Blake boarded the aircraft.
Only when the aircraft disappeared from sight did he loosen his grip.
Eggy slipped from his hand and hit the floor.
Relos opened his mouth. “I can’t be sure whether you’re a winged serpent from the beastkin, but I do know you understand me. Stop play dead. Follow me.”
Eggy had planned to hit the ground on purpose to scare him. But just before touching the floor, the egg bounced on its own, then rolled along after Relos, looking deeply wronged.
“Don’t ask,” Blake said first, cutting off Sylvara before she could speak. “I don’t know anything.”
Sylvara pouted. She had been about to ask why Blake hadn’t told Relos about Eggy, but Blake saw right through her.
That was so unfair.
Sylvara raised both hands. “Fine. I won’t ask anything.”
“Good girl,” Blake said with a smile. She then pulled out a set of disguise tools from her spatial device.
The movements were smooth and practiced.
Without changing her expression, she altered her face and eye color.

Sylvara knew it. All those years Blake claimed to be sick, she must have gone out in disguise plenty of times to do shady things.
About ten minutes later, Blake now had dark brown eyes. She pulled out the small hair tie from the top of her head. Her hair fell loose and messy. Her face looked rough, unshaven, and worn, like someone who hadn’t showered in days. She looked at Sylvara. “Do I still look recognizable?”
Sylvara shook her head hard. “No. Not at all.”
Before the disguise, she looked like a total heartthrob.
After the disguise, she looked like a complete nobody.
Though her eyes were still sharp.
Blake raised an eyebrow and curled her finger at Sylvara.
Sylvara leaned in.
“Close your eyes,” Blake said.
Sylvara obediently shut them.
Blake moved fast, working on her face with quick, practiced motions.
Ten minutes later, she said, “Open them.”
Sylvara opened her eyes. Blake placed something into them, then tapped the mirror inside the aircraft. “Take a look.”
Sylvara stared at her reflection. Her long hair fell loose and messy over her shoulders. Her eyes had turned light brown. Some kind of disguise cream covered her face, hiding her real features completely. Her lips were painted a bold red. She looked flashy, loud, and overly glamorous.
Sylvara pointed at herself. “Daddy, your disguise skills are insane. I look so flashy and tacky that even I can’t bear to look at myself.”
“Not pretty?” Blake asked casually, shoving the disguise kit back into her storage space. “Objection denied. I think it’s perfect. Bright, loud, and obvious. One look, and people will assume you’re just using your looks to latch onto a rich sponsor.” She glanced at herself. “Goes perfectly with my messy image. Even if Agares stood right in front of us, he wouldn’t recognize
either of us.”
Sylvara scratched her cheek. “Daddy, have you ever heard about being careful what you wish for?”

Blake narrowed her eyes and pulled out a small tube from a spatial button. She grinned, showing neat white teeth. She sprayed the contents into her mouth a few times.

When she lowered her hand, her teeth had turned yellow, like someone who had smoked far too much. “Careful what you wish for” she snorted. “You really think Agares is bored enough to come to an auction?”
