Sylvara stepped off the spaceship in high heels, wearing a loud, flashy dress. Her arm was linked with Blake. Blake looked like a total mess. Her beard was scruffy, her face rough, and her long hair hung in her eyes. She wore a loose T-shirt that showed off tattooed arms, and her teeth were yellow when she smiled. Together, they boarded the auction house’s private aircraft.

Once inside, Blake fully played the part of a rich show-off. She bragged nonstop, talking so loudly that even the pilot from the auction house was about to lose his patience.

Sylvara didn’t help at all. She nodded along with wide-eyed admiration, acting impressed at every word. In the end, the pilot couldn’t take it anymore and quietly stuffed earplugs into his ears so he could focus on flying.

Two hours later, the aircraft landed in front of a tall luxury hotel.

Blake jumped down first. Before leaving, she pulled out 500 stellar credits from her spatial button and tossed them onto the copilot’s seat. “Here’s your tip. Go enjoy it,” she said boldly.

The staff nearly had a heart attack. Still, professionalism won. He forced a smile. “Thank you. Goodbye.”

“No need to thank me!” Blake said, chin lifted high. She turned to Sylvara. “Come on, sweetheart. Let’s go.”

They entered the hotel.

At the front desk, Blake gave a string of numbers. The staff immediately handed her a key card.

Blake took the card and led Sylvara toward the elevator.

Two men were already waiting there.

One was tall, the other slightly shorter.

The tall one was about six foot three. The shorter one was around five eleven.

The tall man stood straight as a pole. His presence was cold and sharp, warning people to stay

away.

The shorter man looked much gentler. He stood beside the tall one like an assistant, watching the elevator descend.

Sylvara and Blake reached the elevator just as it arrived. The two men stepped in first.

Sylvara and Blake followed. As Sylvara lifted her eyes, her gaze met the tall man’s.

His blue eyes were deep enough to make her uneasy. Sylvara’s heart thudded. His face was plain, almost forgettable. It didn’t match his powerful presence or those frightening eyes at all.

Was he in disguise like them too?

She casually glanced at the shorter man, then turned her back to them with Blake. She swiped the key card. The elevator doors closed and began to rise.

Sylvara pinched Blake’s arm lightly. Blake reacted at once. She caught Sylvara’s hand, flipped it over, and wrote in her palm. Hey! Hold it together; it’s just a disguise. Don’t make a fuss.

Alright.

Blake was good at disguises.

That meant she had seen people like this before.

Sylvara had overreacted.

She wrote back in Blake’s palm. “Sorry, Daddy. I haven’t seen much of the world.”

Blake snorted and spoke out loud in a lazy, playful tone. “Relax, baby. I get it. Don’t rush. We’ll talk when we’re back in the room.”

Sylvara said nothing.

Could she follow the plan for once?

Weren’t they supposed to be writing in each other’s hands?

Why did she suddenly say it out loud?

Sylvara could only go along with it. She rubbed her face against Blake’s arm and spoke in a sweet, clingy voice that made even herself get goosebumps. “Darling, you’re so naughty. There are other people here.”

Blake reached out and pinched her chin. “Baby, isn’t this exactly what you like about me?”

“Blaaargh!”

Sylvara couldn’t help it. She gagged.

As expected, when Blake went over the top, no one could handle it.

“Oh no, baby, what’s wrong?” Blake said, laying it on thick. “Is the air bad in here? Does it make you feel sick? It’s all my fault. I’ve made my baby suffer. Later, buy whatever you want. I’ll pay

Sylvara shot him a warning look, telling him to stop, but still spoke in that soft, sugary tone. “Thank you, darling. I definitely won’t hold back.”

“Oh gosh, you’re so sweet. Come on, let me give you a kiss!” Blake lifted their joined hands, lowered her head, and planted a loud kiss on the back of her own hand.

From behind, it looked like Blake was lowering her head to kiss someone in a very sleazy way. The kissing sound was big and clear.

Sylvara pretended to be shy and gently pushed him. “You’re awful. There are people here!”

Blake let out a low, rough laugh. The shameless tone echoed inside the elevator.

A moment later-

Ding.

The elevator stopped.

The doors opened.

Sylvara and Blake stepped out. They found the two men behind them-one tall, one short— also got off.

They walked down a long hallway. Sylvara and Blake’s room was 8809. The tall and short men’s room was SSOS, right next door.

Blake swiped the card and led Sylvara inside.

Bang!

The door closed.

Sylvara opened her mouth to speak.

Blake raised one finger to her lips, signaling her to be quiet.

Then she pulled out a small device from her spatial storage. Sylvara had no idea what it was. Blake pressed it against the door. “This blocks sound from passing through walls,” Blake said.

Sylvara glanced at the small gadget. That bastard really thought of everything.

Right after that, Blake took out another item Sylvara had never seen before and tossed it into the room.
