Chapter 305 Bad Guys
No, something was wrong. There was a bruise on her left calf.
Finished
That bruise came from Quill House, when Blake kicked her to remind her to collect the money. The bruise on the top of her left foot had already faded, but this one was still there.
For her bargain-bin husband, details were everything.
If her disguise failed now, it wouldn’t just be an awkward scene.
Agares would be absolutely sure he had been cheated on.
“What are you looking at?” Sylvara snapped first, shouting at Agares. “Never seen legs before? You call yourselves decent people? What kind of decent man states at a girl’s legs?”
Auren couldn’t argue with her logic.
He didn’t look. He really didn’t.
He felt completely wronged.
“When are you done looking?” Sylvara kept yelling on the outside, but panic crashed inside her chest. Agares was still staring at her legs. She jumped to her feet at once and threw accusations wildly. “So this isn’t about waiting for the police. You’re trying to lock me up, scam my money, and take advantage of me.”
“I’m telling you right now. Dream on! I’m leaving right now. You liars.”
“Wait,” Agares said, stopping her. His eyes finally shifted away from her legs and feet.
“Why should I wait? You’re both liars.” Sylvara’s heart pounded hard. She could feel pressure closing in on her. Her bargain-bin husband was using mental energy, trying to trap her without force.
Agares flashed forward and appeared in front of her.
He lifted the hand wearing his optical computer and blocked her path. His eyes locked onto her. His voice was low, stiff, and emotionless. “We are not liars. I have a wife. I’m not interested in your money or your body. If you don’t believe me, I can call my wife right now, in front of you.”
Details decided the outcome.
With no social skills, her bargain-bin husband could only rely on cold logic.
She never should have worn such a short skirt.
That bastard had set her up.
Sylvara stepped back, putting distance between them. She turned fierce and cute at the same time, striking back hard. “You don’t want my money or my body? Whether you have a wife has nothing to do with me. People say women outside always smell better than the ones at home.”
“The way you stared at my legs just now-no decent man looks like that. Now you’re calling your wife in front of me. What are you trying to prove?
“That you have a wife? Or that you weren’t staring at my legs? “I’ve seen plenty of jerks like you. Your mouth says no, but your eyes tell the truth. Deep down, you’re hinking my legs are straight, long, and pale.”

Chapter 305 Bad Guys
Finished
A cold glint flickered in Agares’s dark eyes. His voice dropped, colder than before. “Miss, you seem very afraid of me calling my wife.”
“Afraid?” Sylvara straightened her chest and waist, then hughed in mockery. “You’re funny. Why would I be scared? I’m not cheating with anyone. I didn’t flirt with you. Go ahead and call her. I want to see how you explain it when your wife sees me standing right next to you.”
Agares’s gaze wrapped tightly around her.
He hadn’t moved an inch and was still staring at her. Sylara raised her optical computer on purpose. She scratched her nose with her finger, then looked straight t him and urged, “Go on, call her. Hurry up. After that, send me straight to the police station. I’ll wait for the police there. Standing here with you makes me nervous. I’m worried you have bad intentions.”
Agares lifted his right hand. His left hand pressed again his optical computer. His eyes never left her. The call connected. No one answered.
It rang ten times, then automatically disconnected.
Inside, Sylvara silently made a victory sign. Good thing he had been clever. While she was in the bathroom, she had switched devices. She had tossed her optical computer into the spatial storage and used the new one the bastard had prepared for her instead.
Agares still wore his usual calm face, but his brows pulled together tightly. His gaze grew heavy and dark as it fixed on Sylvara.
Sylvara flashed her white teeth and danced right on the edge of disaster. “Can’t get through, huh?” she mocked. “And you said you had a wife. I think you’re jus a liar.
“You lied about having a wife. You lied to keep me here. You are clearly up to no good,” she went on. “I suggest you let me go now. Otherwise, once we get to the police station, I’ll report you for unlawful detention.”
Agares’s sharp gaze slid down from her face. It passed quickly over her chest and finally stopped on her legs.
His left hand pressed the optical computer again. He made another video call. It was the same as before; the call connected, but only the dull beeping of no answer came through. Ten rings. Then, it cut off on its own. No answer.
Agares lifted his eyes from her legs and looked at her coldly. His voice turned firm and commanding. “Give me your contact number.”
Sylvara panicked inside. On the outside, she stayed calm as a rock. She hid the hand with the optical computer behind her back, lifted her chin, and said, “Why should I give you my number? I thought you were a good person, someone here to save me. Turns out you’re just pretending to be decent while doing shady things behind the scenes.”
