Sylvara's Rebirth A New Dawn for Abel novel Chapter 317

Chapter 317 Intervention

The two of them began buttering each other up.

One line from him, one from the other, going back and forth.

Sylvara glanced left, glanced right, then sat back down-only she didn’t sit up straight, and her back bumped squarely into Agares’s.

Before she could even react-

Agares’s whole body had already gone rigid, spine pulling taut.

Finished

She could feel the tension through him, every muscle drawn tight. Taking her sweet time, Sylvara adjusted her posture, turned just enough to flirt with danger, and said to him, “Sorry about that.”

Agares stayed ramrod straight, his reply clipped and frosty. “It’s fine.”

Her bargain-bin husband sounded like a block of ice-but underneath that thin frozen shell, she was certain it was all heat and wildfire.

The corner of Sylvara’s lips tipped up in a silent, wicked little smile.

Then, she turned back to continue watching the two men across from her trade compliments like seasoned businessmen.

They kept it up until the waiter arrived with the dishes, finally forcing a pause in their mutual flattery.

Blake warmly invited Callam to join them for the meal.

Callam declined a couple of times out of politeness, then reluctantly squeezed in on Sylvara’s side instead of crowding the “elder.”

The seating was a curved booth.

Sylvara gave up her spot to him and scooted further inside, closer to Blake-so that Callam now had his back to Agares, while she could legitimately angle herself and stare at her bargain-bin husband’s head and shoulders all she wanted.

The three of them started eating.

The mutant beast meat hadn’t been handled properly.

It still reeked with a funky gamey smell.

Sylvara barely ate any.

Blake was picky too-he didn’t eat much either, taking slow, unhurried bites.

When they were about halfway through—

Callam said, “You two haven’t had a proper look around Cryo Planet yet, have you? I happen to be free this afternoon. Would I have the honor of showing you around?”

Chapter 317 Intervention

A free personal tour guide?

How could she possibly pass that up?

“Would that be too much trouble for you?” Sylvara asked, sweet as syrup. If it’s inconvenient, no need-we can just wander around on our own, right, Daddy?”

The moment he heard Sylvara wasn’t against it, Callam hurried to say, “Not at all. It’d be my pleasure to play

host.”

Sylvara’s eyes curved as she smiled. “Then, thank you. My Daddy and I don’t know Cryo Planet well. With you as our guide, we won’t miss any of the good spots.”

Callam chuckled. “It’s my honor.”

“Eat up. Once we’re done, we’ll head out,” Sylvara said, dropping a large forkful of meat onto Blake’s plate.

As she lifted her hand from his plate, her gaze slid sideways to her bargain-bin husband-just in time to see him raise the wrist with his optical computer and tap a few times with his other hand.

She thought he was messaging her.

Instead, a few minutes later, Callam’s device buzzed,

One look at the caller ID had him setting his fork down and answering immediately.

She couldn’t hear what the person on the other end said.

Callam’s voice dropped low. “Yes. Understood. I’ll return right away-I’ll be there in an hour. All right, goodbye.”

He ended the call and stood, apologetic as he turned to them. “Ms. Sylvic, Mr. Kenobia, something’s happened in the sector under my command. I won’t be able to accompany you this afternoon. I’m truly sorry.”

Blake leaned fully into the understanding-elder act. “It’s quite all right. Duty comes first. It’s already fate that we got to share a meal today. I am very happy.”

That only made Callam look guiltier. “I really am sorry. Once I’m done, if I have any time at all, I’ll come find you again. May I ask how long you’ll be staying on Cryo Planet?”

A sharp glint flashed through Blake’s eyes. “We’ll be here until the midnight auction ends.”

Callam’s eyes brightened. “All right, I’ll remember that. This is my contact number-if you need anything. you can always call.”

Blake took the slip of paper with the number. “Thank you. Travel safe.”

Just like he’d appeared out of nowhere, Callam left in a rush.

Watching him hurry off, Sylvara couldn’t help wondering-had her bargain-bin husband just pinged the military command, who then called Callam?
