Chapter 318 Tic-Tac-Toe
Finished
Blake snapped her fingers. “Correct. I’ll give you 99 out of 100-if I give you the last point, you’ll get cocky
So, it really had been her bargain-bin husband’s doing?
Sylvara asked again, “My husband did that?”
Blake arched an eyebrow. “Exactly. Your husband sent a message to the military-had them pull the latest deployment map for the Roseblade Legion, their current training schedule, the disciplinary report on that traitor Brigan, and ordered General Cohen to copy the military code by hand ten times.”
Sylvara frowned. “And how exactly are the deployment plan, training schedule, Moss’s punishment, and General Cohen copying the code ten times supposed to be connected?”
The legion was huge.
Having a few rotten apples in the barrel was normal.
You picked the worms out, dealt with them cleanly, and moved on.
So, why drag the entire military code into it?
Blake lifted her apple, took a bite, chewed and swallowed, then clicked her tongue. “He’s sour.”
Sour?
Did he mean jealousy?
Sylvara’s eyes went wide. “No way, Daddy—you’re telling me he’s already jealous even before he proves I’m really his wife?”
Blake waggled a finger. “He hasn’t torn the mask off yet, but the fact he’s trying this hard means, in his head, he’s already 90% sure you’re his wife.
“That last 10% is just confirmation. That’s not abusing power for personal gain—that’s strangling a potential threat in its crib so no one’s dancing on his grave later, planting flowers over it.”
Sylvara was speechless.
What a crooked logic.
Impossible to refute.
They finished their apples in the parked craft.
Sylvara had just picked the apple seeds out and tucked them into her spatial button when she spotted Agares emerging with his men, glancing left and right before lifting the wrist with his optical computer.
Blake nudged her with an elbow. “Take out that device. Your husband should be messaging you any second now-or calling.”
Sylvara blinked, a little stunned, as she pulled out her optical computer. “Are you living rent-free in his head

or what?”

Blake snorted. “I’m not living in his gut. I just know how he works. The two of you-one chasing, one dodging-it’s a hunter-and-prey situation. Whoever’s more patient wins.”
“Daddy, that’s where you’re wrong. The best hunters always show up looking like prey.” Sylvara leaned in, dark eyes glittering. “Between me and him, who do you think can wait it out longer?”
She was the hunter here, ready to tame Agares-the Troya Empire’s guardian beast.
Blake gave her a look, not bothering to hide her admiration for Agares. “Agares is the most patient man I’ve ever seen. Back in his first year training, he stayed in one spot for seven days and seven nights just to take down a single bandit.
“You, on the other hand, never play by the rules. That’s where all the variables creep in-and once there are variables, the ending’s anyone’s guess.”
Honestly, Blake was giving her way too much credit.
She was really just a little chaos gremlin.
“Daddy, my comm hasn’t pinged yet…”
Ding-
Before Sylvara could finish the sentence, Blake’s optical computer chimed.
Sylvara switched gears instantly. “Wow, Daddy. Looks like Agares isn’t just patient-he doesn’t play by the rules either.”
Blake rolled her eyes. “It’s not like he’d be calling me…”
Her words cut off mid-sentence. She froze, expression shifting in a way that said everything. “Never mind. It really is him.”
Sylvara lifted both hands and clapped silently twice. “Congratulations, Daddy. My husband’s moved on from picking me apart-he’s dissecting you now.”
What kind of mythical-grade husband was this?
He was unreal.
Blake casually flipped up the privacy panel at the front of the craft, flicked on the cabin lights, shushed Sylvie, switched the call from video to voice, and hit accept. Then, raising her voice with an easy smile, she drawled, “Well, well, my little Highness. Did Rheys showing up on Kolar planet suddenly leave you with too much free time?”
“Good afternoon, General Kenobia,” Agares’s voice came through deep and hoarse, steady and respectful. “With the Swarmborn crown prince Rheys on Kolar, their brood doesn’t dare make any reckless moves. Both sides will be negotiating his stay here.
“Once the situation is finalized, I’ll report to the military and His Majesty. When we convene, I’ll invite you to attend the talks as well.”
