Chapter 95
Aina
We were preparing to attend Alpha Ruben’s mating ceremony at the Jupiter Pack. I had met him only a handful of times at council gatherings, but from what I knew, he had never taken a mate. The oldest alpha still unbonded. It was almost strange to think that at forty-six, he had finally found his fated one. Sometimes, I thought, the Moon goddess truly had a cruel sense of humor-making a man wait that long for love.
“Have you packed everything Alina will need?” I asked one of the maids, my tone calm but thoughtful. Truthfully, if it were left to me, I’d have preferred our daughter stayed home. The ceremony would last two days at most, and we’d return right after. But Osborne, as usual, had insisted she come along.
Typical of him-wanting his whole world close, no matter the circumstance.
“Yes, ma’am,” the maid replied quickly. “Tomorrow’s trip will go smoothly. Everything has been
arranged.”
I nodded approvingly and offered her a small smile. “Thank you. You’ve all worked hard.”
They bowed their heads respectfully, and just as they were about to leave, my senses caught the familiar scent that always made my chest tighten, the sharp, comforting musk of my mate. “You can all leave now,” I said softly. “The Alpha is nearby.”
They nodded, bowed once more, and exited just in time for Osborne to stride in. The moment his eyes met mine, his entire face lit up, and so did mine. Without hesitation, I crossed the room and wrapped my arms around him.
“Careful,” he laughed, his voice muffled against my neck. “You’ll break my ribs.”
I smiled against his skin before lifting my head to kiss him. His lips curved into a smirk. “You’ve become bold, mate,” he murmured against my mouth.
“And you love it,” I whispered back, biting his lip lightly.
That earned a deep chuckle from him-one that always sent warmth through me. “I see we’re all packed,” he said, glancing around the room.
“We are,” I replied, fingers curling into his belt. “But first…” I looked up at him with a teasing smile. “I need my husband.”
He smirked knowingly, his hand sliding around my waist as he swept me off my feet with ease. “I see, sugar plum,” he teased. “Just don’t beg me to stop tonight.”

I laughed softly, already knowing I would.

The next morning, our journey began. At the airport, the roar of the jet engines filled the air as the
private plane took off. Alina was sleeping soundly in my arms, her small head resting against my
shoulder. Osborne sat beside me, his phone pressed to his ear, his voice low but commanding.
We had left all pack responsibilities in Alex’s care, trusting him to manage things until our return.
“Yes, we’ll be staying at our own house,” Osborne said into the phone. “No need to arrange
accommodations for us.”
From his tone, I guessed he was speaking with Alpha Ruben himself. A brief pause followed before he gave a final “Understood,” and ended the call.
He turned toward me then, his arm sliding over the back of my seat and resting lightly on my shoulder. “Just so you know,” he began, his voice casual but deliberate, “we’ll be seeing Bella’s
husband there.”
I turned to him, surprised. “We will? Then she’ll be there too?”
He shook his head. “No. She won’t. But Dylan called me some time ago-he was invited as well. The man’s quite influential, you know.”
I nodded slowly, processing his words. Of course, I knew Dylan Cook. Who didn’t? His name carried weight across packs, his power and wealth spoken of almost as much as his ruthlessness.
I glanced down at Alina, her little fingers curled in my sleeve, then back at Osborne. “Well,” I said softly, “this will be an interesting trip.”
He smiled faintly, eyes glinting with something unreadable. “That’s one way to put it.”
We arrived at our mansion in Jupiter Pack. The mansion was large and elegant, just as I remembered. Osborne had bought it about two years ago when we started doing business with Jupiter Pack, and I had to admit, he had a very good eye for such things.
The butler and maids came forward immediately to help with our luggage. As we were about to step inside, a sudden wave of goosebumps ran over my skin. I stopped and turned to my right
without thinking.
Osborne noticed and followed my gaze. “Is something the matter?” he asked, his brows slightly
raised.
I looked at him and quickly shook my head. “No, I just thought I saw something,” I said with a faint smile, trying to brush it off.
Or maybe someone, I thought quietly to myself. But whatever it was, it must have been one of the

workers moving around. I was probably just anxious for no reason.

The day of the mating ceremony finally came. I was dressed in a stunning, elegant gown that hugged my curves perfectly, so much that anyone who saw me would probably think I was the one being mated tonight.
As I admired myself in the mirror, memories of my own ceremony flashed through my mind-the
one Bella had almost ruined. A quiet sigh escaped my lips just as Osborne came up behind me,
wrapping his arms around my waist.
“You look so beautiful,” he murmured softly against my neck, his warm breath tickling my skin.
