Chapter 103

His teeth grazed my neck, and in that instant, reality snapped back like a whip. “I do not want to be

marked now!” I barked, my voice louder than I intended.

He froze for a moment before a low chuckle escaped him. “I figured you’d say that,” he murmured,

straightening to his full height, the smirk never leaving his lips.

I gasped for air, my chest rising and falling as I looked up at him. His gaze was steady, teasing-too

confident for my sanity. “Two minutes,” he said, voice deep and deliberate. “If you’re not out of here

in two minutes, I’ll be taking you right here.”

The meaning of his words hit me hard. Without a second thought, I sprang to my feet, my pulse hammering in my ears as I stumbled toward the door. His amused laugh echoed behind me, dark

and rich, following me down the hall like a spell.

The maids were already gathered outside, and as soon as they saw me, they bowed respectfully. Among them was Feli, her familiar eyes met mine, but the easy laughter we used to share was gone. Things had changed. Everything had changed.

They escorted me silently to my chamber, and the moment the door closed, I collapsed against it, sliding down until I hit the floor. My breaths came fast and uneven, and my trembling hand instinctively found the spot on my neck where his mouth had been just moments ago. His scent still lingered there-thick, intoxicating, and dangerously alluring.

I should wash it off. I needed to wash it off. But my body betrayed me, the memory of his lips, his

voice, the heat of him-everything replayed in my head, and I could still feel the dampness between

my thighs.

All that from a single kiss that wasn’t even on my

lips.

I pressed my hand against my chest, trying to steady myself, but the truth came quietly, uninvited,

if he keeps doing this… if he keeps touching me like that… I’ll lose myself in his arms.

And what frightened me most was the whisper deep inside that told me-

I would like it.

Aina

I never asked Osborne about anything that happened at Jupiter Pack again, because I promised him I wouldn’t. I knew him well enough to understand that if he said not to worry, then he must have already handled the situation. And so, I kept my promise and never brought it up again.

“Mama!” Alina called, her little voice breaking through my thoughts. I turned to her instantly and

lifted her up, pressing a kiss on her soft cheek. “Gianpa,” she said, trying to pronounce Grandpa,

and I couldn’t help but laugh. “Grandma and Grandpa have gone on a vacation,” I told her, brushing

a strand of hair from her face. She pouted, her small lips forming that adorable frown I couldn’t

resist.

Osborne was sitting not far from us, sipping tea while flipping through a few magazines He looked

calm and thoughtful. “Don’t worry they will be back soon and sugar plum,” he said to me with a

wink, “next time it will be you and I visiting Clara.”

“You’ve been saying that for some time now,” I teased, looking at him over Alina’s head. He chuckled softly, lowering the cup. “Truthfully this time,” he said, a smile playing on his lips, “maybe next month when I have limited things on my plate.” He gave me that loving smile I had grown

used to, and I couldn’t help but return it.

“So when you get there, will you be sparring with Clara’s mate?” I asked, half teasing. “Remember you told me you promised him.”

A low chuckle escaped him. “And I never go back on my promises,” he said with a grin, “but I do hope I don’t get my ass kicked.” His tone made me laugh immediately.

Clara’s husband was huge, maybe even taller than Osborne and undeniably handsome too. But if anyone asked me who would win, I’d still say Osborne. He was stronger than most people could ever imagine. The best outcome between them would probably be a tie, but you never can tell.

“That reminds me,” he said after a moment, clearing his throat. “You’re the only one I’ll tell this to, Aina. I don’t think Alex has been in a great mood lately, and it’s been affecting his work.”

There was concern in his voice, the kind that showed how much he cared about those close to him. “Then you should talk to him,” I said softly, but he sighed. “I have tried,” he said, shaking his

head. “Every time I ask, he keeps saying he’s okay, even when he looks like shit.”

“It could’ve been matrimonial,” I said thoughtfully, and he nodded. “It could,” he agreed, “but I just

wish the best for him. Maybe I’ll talk to him some more, try to find out how I can help. After all, he’s

been my good friend and my beta for a long time.” He placed the magazine on the table with a

sigh.

I tilted my head slightly, watching him. “What about Alpha Maurice?” I asked, and the way his face

lit up instantly made me smile. He really liked that man. “Well,” he said, grinning proudly, “let’s just

say giving him a chance was a very good thing. Give that guy some time and he’ll be dragging the

power of the North with me.””

That made me laugh softly. “You look like a proud father,” I teased. He laughed too, his eyes bright

with pride and warmth.
