Chapter 104
Bella
Clain
Why can’t I remember anything about this place? Why can’t I move my legs? Why does that man’s
voice still echo in my head, even when I know he’s lying? And the worst part of it all-no one is telling
me anything.
It feels like I’ve been left in the dark, deliberately. As if I’m being punished. I refuse to believe anything that comes out of his mouth. My father could never sell me off like some piece of property, and that weakling could never be the Alpha of Waterford Pack. Those are all lies. They
have to be.
But first, how do I get out of this place? After being discharged, they brought me to a massive mansion, bigger than ours at Waterford-and locked me inside this enormous room. And ever since then, I haven’t been allowed to step outside. It’s suffocating. I feel trapped, caged like some
animal.
“Is anyone there?” I called out. Once. Twice. By the third time, someone finally answered. If this were my pack, just one word would’ve sent everyone rushing in, but here, it took three desperate calls. And it was only one maid who came.
“Yes, ma’am,” she said with a half-hearted bow, not even trying to hide her indifference.
“I’d like to go out,” I told her, but she just stared at me like I was some kind of fool. “You’re not deaf,
are you? I said I’d like to go out!”
She sighed. Sighed.
My eyes widened, fury bubbling inside me. “How dare you?” I snapped.
She didn’t even flinch. “You are not allowed to leave this room, ma’am. For any reason.”
“What the hell did you just say to me?” I barked. “Am I a prisoner now? Because that’s what it feels
like!”
And the nerve of her-she smiled.
“Well, ma’am,” she said calmly, “the last time you went out, you came back without your memories. I wonder what you’ll lose next if we let you out again.”
I wanted to tear her apart. To dig my claws into her chest and watch her fall, bleeding, to the
ground. But I couldn’t. Not when I can’t walk with these useless legs.
And no, I will never believe that Osborne did this to me. This is their doing, all of it. They’re hiding

me for a reason.

By now, my father must be searching everywhere for me, furious and desperate. He’ll come for me soon. I just have to endure this a little longer. But my patience… is wearing dangerously thin.
“It seems you do not have respect for me, it seems you do not know who Bella Maxwell is,” I said sharply, my tone rising with authority. But she didn’t even let me finish before she interrupted, “Bella Cook-that is your name, madam. You bear the name of the master, the one who bought you.”
As those words left her lips, she smiled evilly, a twisted curl of satisfaction spreading across her face. That was my thing, my signature expression, not hers. No one smiled wickedly like I did, and seeing her try it only fueled my anger more. I couldn’t believe this was happening, how could he, my mate, allow me to be treated this way?
“I was not sold, so get that,” I snapped, voice trembling with fury. But again, she cut in, her tone calm and mocking, “Oh, but you were. It’s such a shame you don’t remember. Well, if that’s all, I’d like to take my leave.” She didn’t even bother to bow this time before turning her back on me, walking out with that smug posture that made me want to tear her apart.
I was left sitting there, stunned, disbelief and rage boiling inside me. Then a bitter laugh escaped my lips, sharp and cold. “I’ll make you pay,” I hissed, my voice echoing through the room. “All of you. Every single one of you will regret this.”
This wasn’t just a nightmare-it was worse than hell itself. I was trapped, living in a place that suffocated me with its silence and cruelty. “Dad,” I whispered under my breath, my voice breaking, “please, when are you coming to get me? I can’t stay here another day.”
But even as I spoke, her words replayed in my head like poison. Was it true? Was I really sold? And if I was, what year was it now? I should have asked him when he mentioned it… but I didn’t. Maybe part of me was too afraid to know the truth.
Then I remembered the mirror-the moment he made me face my reflection. I couldn’t even recognize the woman staring back. My face… my beauty… gone. The once flawless skin now looked pale and dull, faint wrinkles around my eyes, dark circles that hollowed my features. I looked older, worn out. This wasn’t the face of a twenty-three-year-old woman. It wasn’t me.
And even now, I couldn’t bring myself to look at a mirror again, afraid of what I’ll see.
Was what he said true? Was I really sold? Or did he kidnap me just to fill my head with these lies, to make me doubt myself?
No. He must be lying. He’s just trying to get back at me, for Cherry.
Cherry, that pathetic fool who thought she could stand where I stood. She thought she could walk

in my light, steal what was mine, and wear the crown I built. But I made sure she saw the other side
of life-the one that wasn’t so sweet, just like her name implies.
That life wasn’t all about cherries, and I made her understand that.
Let him lie. Let them think they can break me. They don’t know who I am.
Wait until you hear what I really did to that girl.
He thinks he can destroy me, but I’ll make sure I break him first.
I’ll make sure I tell him everything, in detail. How I pushed her toward her death, how I made her realize her place, how I showed her that for someone like her, death was the only escape.
I can still remember that day so clearly, as if it happened yesterday-the look in her eyes, the tears
that streamed endlessly down her face until she had no more left to shed. Her sobs echoed in my
ears as they each took their turn, one after another, breaking what she so carefully kept for the guy
she called Dylan. Her body, her innocence, all of it was gone that night, and I watched it happen.
