Chapter 125

Osborne

I woke up feeling drained from the non-stop sex yesterday and all through the night. I wondered how Aina was holding up. The way she was sleeping beside me said it all I chucked softy brushing her hair away from her face as her chest rose and fell steadily

Then my phone lit up on the bedside table. Groaning quietly, I reached for it, hoping desperately t

wasn’t worked had just gotten back. Seeing Dylants name fash on the screen made me curious

Why would he be calling so early?

I answered with a low, tired “Hello.’ He didn’t waste a second. Hey Ostome, sorry for the earty cal

but I need a bit of help.

That caught my attention. Dylan rarely asked for favors unless it was serious. “Go on,” I said, voice

steady

There’s been a kidnapping-Bella’s been taken,” he said, and I paused. Is that why you’re calling me

this early? I asked, irritation creeping in

He chuckled softly. You might think it’s no big deal, but it is. The problem is who took her. I’m afraid he’ll do anything she tells him.”

My brow furrowed. “Who?”

He sighed heavily “Pascal’

My eyes widened, and a slow smile spread across my face. That bastard. Who didn’t know Pascal? He’d been riding high with his business for recent years, acting like no one was above him. He’d

always tried to crush his competitors, especially Dylan, but he never crossed certain lines-or so we

thought

I understood why Dylan was calling now. “I heard Pascal was obsessed with Bella once. So now

he’s trying to take her away from you? I teased, amused. Is your security slipping, old friend?”

Dylan laughed along. “Probably. One of my maids, who I had tasked with watching Bella, sold her

out to a man I recognized as one of Pascal’s. That’s how I found out.”

I nodded. “Alright Dylan, anything for you. You rarely ask for help, so I’m glad to step in. But first, get off my phone.”

He laughed heartily, and I ended the call, already gearing up for what was to come, but first I needed to fall back to sleep, damn I needed it.

When the sun rose, its light filtered into my eyes, pulling me out of sleep. I blinked a few times

before realizing Aina wasn’t beside me. Instinctively, I sat up.

Clair

“Sugar plum?” I called out, but there was no response. Her scent still lingered faintly in the room,

warm and familiar-it hadn’t been long since she left.

My thoughts shifted to Alex and Miranda. I still couldn’t believe Miranda had the nerve to show up

here after what she did to him, to ask Aina about a divorce from her husband. The audacity of that

woman, but then again, it’s for his best.

I never really liked her, but because Alex was so damn in love with her, I had to tolerate her

presence. And to think he once rejected Aina for that woman-well, even if he hadn’t, I would have

made sure he did. In the end, it was a win for me. Still, Miranda shattered him completely. And

when a werewolf’s heart breaks that way, it’s nearly impossible to mend.

I got out of bed and walked into the bathroom. The floor was still damp-Aina had been here not long ago. I closed my eyes and inhaled deeply, letting her scent fill me. My Aina. The woman who once kept me awake for countless nights, haunting my thoughts until I finally made her mine. Now,

she’s my wife. My Luna.

And together, we have a beautiful daughter who carries both our features perfectly. What more

could I possibly ask for?

But then Dylan’s call came back to mind. Bella. He’d said she’d been taken. If she ever regained the

memories he told me she’d lost, she might come looking for Aina. As much as this wasn’t my

problem, I knew it could easily become one.

If it were up to me, I’d go straight to Pascal’s territory myself, drag her out, and hand her back to

her husband. By now, I’m sure Dylan must have tightened his security and reinforced his

household.

I exhaled deeply, stepping under the shower as the water cascaded over me, washing away the

last remnants of sleep but not the thoughts clouding my mind.

Moments later when I stepped into the dining room, there she was, Aina-gracefully giving instructions to the maids. I paused by the door, leaning casually against the frame, a smile spreading across my face as I watched her.

She turned abruptly, and when her eyes met mine, a soft blush colored her cheeks. “Someone slept

like a child,” she teased.

I chuckled, nodding. “You did a number on me,” I replied smoothly. She opened her mouth to respond, then shut it again, her face turning an even deeper shade of pink. That made me laugh quietly.

“Leave us,” I said to the maids, and they bowed before hurrying away. I took slow, deliberate steps toward my wife. When I reached her, I slipped an arm around her waist, pulling her close until our foreheads touched.

“You should’ve woken me up, sugar plum,” I murmured against her lips.

She giggled softly. “What’s the fun in that? I wanted you to feel what it’s like-you always do it to

me.”

Her playful tone made me smile. I laughed and captured her lips in a kiss, gentle but sure. She kissed me back, and for a moment, the world stilled. This woman, my wife, my Luna, my heart-was everything. She would never know pain, not while I breathed. I’d crush anyone who dared to bring it

near her. She’d never even know what I had done to keep her safe.
