Chapter 130-2
She wheeled herself closer until she was directly in front of me.
“Raise your head,” she commanded.
My eyes widened, but I obeyed.
Her hand shot out, gripping my face so tightly it felt like she wanted to crush my skull/Her expression twisted with pure disgust.
“Tell me, now that you’ve tasted just a drop of power, do you think you’re anywhere near my level?”
she hissed.
One wrong word. One wrong look. She could kill me.
Tears burned my eyes as I whispered, “No. I would never compare myself to you.”
I had worked for this woman, I knew what to say to make her feel as if she was better than
everyone, and just like I expected. Her lips curled into a satisfied smile. “Good. You know your
place.”
Years had passed, and Bella hadn’t changed at all. Still cruel. Still monstrous.
“Now that you’re finally seeing results,” the mysterious man said calmly, stepping slightly forward.
The way he looked at Bella… like he adored her, like she was his prized possession. “Have I begun
earning your trust?”
A flicker of irritation crossed Bella’s face before she hid it behind another smile.
“Yes, of course, Pascal. You really are the best.”
The man-Pascal-beamed like a child being praised by a beloved parent.
The sight made bile rise in my throat.
Just when I thought things couldn’t get any worse, a noise shattered the room’s tense silence. It
wasn’t just me who heard it-every head snapped toward the sound at the same time.
In an instant, I was yanked on my feet by Jack as he grabbed me by the neck, his claws pressing against my skin. I tried not to wince.
“What’s going on?” Bella demanded sharply, rolling her wheelchair backward. Her eyes darted around, already calculating.
Pascal moved in front of her protectively, his muscles tensing as he began shifting halfway. “Are we under attack?” he growled.

Chapter 130-2
My heart pounded painfully. Please, goddess… don’t let me die here.
“How would anyone even know we’re here?” Pascal snapped, frustration rising. “No one-
He didn’t get to finish.
The door exploded open.
A tall man stepped inside-golden hair, pale skin, features carved like a statue. The moment I saw him, I heard Bella’s sharp gasp. Even without seeing her face, I knew she recognized him.
It was the famous Dylan Cook. Her husband.
He entered with the calm fury of a storm, expression cold, unreadable. Pascal moved toward him, crouching as though ready to strike.
“So you arrived sooner than expected,” Pascal sneered, trying to sound bold-but I could hear the edge of fear in his voice.
Dylan didn’t even look at him first.
His eyes flicked to me, for a brief, shocking moment, he bowed his head in acknowledgment- before turning to Jack who held me captive.
“Jack, right?” Dylan said in a low, dangerous voice.
Jack’s hold on me tightened. And I could feel the way his body was a bit tense.
“I knew I recognized you when I checked the footage of you paying off the maid to buy my wife.” and for a moment I was caught off guard, oh so Bella was bought? Dylan’s gaze flicked to Pascal as more of Dylan’s men poured into the room.
Pascal didn’t retreat, though every line of his body screamed tension. Beside him, Bella wheeled herself farther back, her face draining of color. For once, the terror in her eyes was real.
And then-
Everything went still.
Another figure stepped into the room, and his very presence seemed to pull the air taut. Silence rolled in, thick and heavy, so absolute it felt like even the walls were holding their breath.
Alpha Osborne Cliff of Silver Crest Pack.
The man who had saved my life once.
The moment he crossed the threshold, every person in the room stiffened instinctively-predator
recognizing a greater predator. Power radiated from him, cold and commanding.
