Chapter 131-1

The kind of power that radiated from one man alone… it was astonishing. I had never seen Pascal shaken, not once-until Osborne stepped into that room. The moment Pascal’s eyes landed on. him, the cocky confidence drained out of him, replaced by something I never thought I would

witness: submission.

I didn’t blame him. Even I, whenever I stood close to Osborne, could feel that crushing force he carried so effortlessly. Alpha or not, the man’s presence was built to command, to dominate. If he

had been born a mere wolf with no title, he would still bring entire rooms to their knees.

My gaze drifted to Bella. She looked like someone had ripped the ground out from under her. Her

face was twisted with fear, her eyes wide and trembling as they darted to mine. Her whole body

quivered. Good. I wanted her like that-terrified, stripped of her arrogance, drowning in the consequences she thought she’d never face.

Osborne’s voice cut through the air with that signature, deadly calm.

“I see you have invited the future Luna of Waterford Pack into your domain.”

His eyes landed on Pascal, who swallowed so hard I saw his throat jerk.

“But the way you treated her…” Osborne tilted his head slightly, studying him like a misbehaving

child. “That was not very respectful. Why is that?”

Pascal’s fists clenched and unclenched at his sides, his eyes darting everywhere except Osborne’s.

“Yes… and I-uh-I’m sorry for how I treated her,” he stammered.

A smile tugged at my lips. Fear of Osborne was no joke. It stripped even the toughest wolves bare.

Bella, meanwhile, looked like she’d reached the end of her road. Her heart pounded so loudly I

almost wondered if the others could hear it too. She had thrown her life into the hands of a man

who couldn’t even hold his ground in front of another. How pathetic. And now, everything she schemed and lied for was burning right in front of her.

Osborne shifted his attention to the man holding Maurice’s mate hostage.

“Release her,” he commanded. “She has a wedding to attend.”

The idiot hesitated-just a heartbeat too long.

Pascal snapped.

“Are you deaf? He said release her!”

Jack obeyed instantly, dropping his hold. The moment her neck was free, she bolted, running straight toward us. Her dress was tattered, her makeup streaked-she looked like she’d been through hell. The little one had suffered more than enough.

When she reached Osborne, she bowed.

“Thank you again, Alpha Osborne.”

Again?

Even Osborne seemed confused.

She gave a small, shy smile.

“I was the girl left for dead in your pack.”

Osborne’s brows lifted.

“Oh. It’s you.”

She nodded. His voice softened-still deep, still powerful, but touched with something like

recognition.

“You’ve grown. And changed. I apologize for this needless chaos and for you being dragged into it.

He gestured to the man standing behind him.

“This is Steve, my acting beta. He’ll take you to your ceremony. Your mate is in disarray.”

That made her smile for real. She bowed again, gratitude pouring off her, then hurried off with

Steve.

Only then did I turn back to Pascal.

“I believe you have something of mine.”

Bella’s voice snapped out like a whip before Pascal could respond.

“You must be joking. There is no possible way I belong to you.”
