Side Story 21-1
And suddenly, Alan fell silent. When I straightened and looked around, all eyes were on me. Mr Sinclair cleared his throat. “Clara’s strength is not what we’re here about, please, let’s go to the
main issue I am here,” he said, and I noticed Alan frowning.
Clain
“So why the fuck am I called?” he asked. For the first time, Alpha Abel rose from his seat-woah, he
was a tall and huge man.
He stepped forward, standing directly over Alan, and said, “well, it came to my notice,” he began,”
that you are about to become a father.” I could swear the color drained from Alan’s face as he
turned to me and pointed, “whatever she tells you is a lie, I never touched her.”
But Mr Sinclair almost screamed, “not her fool, my Pamela!” and there it was-let’s see him deny
that fact.
Alpha Abel stepped away from Alan and came a little closer to me before moving toward Randy.” You shall go tell my uncle about it as my beta,” he said. Oh, so Randy was the new beta. “Tell him, his son is about to be a father and a husband.” Randy bowed low. “As you wish, alpha,” he said, but
still hesitated.
“No, I already have a mate, I’ll do no such thing by marrying his daughter who couldn’t even shift,” Alan said. And for the first time, Alpha Abel’s voice rose. “You should have thought of that before you got her pregnant. You will reject your mate and marry her, or you cease to be a part of this family.” Alan stepped back, swallowing hard, as Alpha Abel continued, “You will not bring shame
onto my household.”
Everyone in the room immediately knew it was final. Instinctively, both Alan, Randy, and Mr Sinclair bowed their heads, compelled by his authority. Instantly, Alpha Abel snapped his gaze toward me.
Whatever aura he had released, I hadn’t felt it-not even a bit, maybe because I hadn’t shifted yet. Quickly, he asked, “you haven’t shifted, have you?” I shook my head, and I watched the color drain
from his face-but why?
Everyone straightened, and then Randy asked, “but if you have not shifted, how then did you beat Alan?” He seemed to be interested in that, Alan quickly whipped his head at him. “She didn’t beat
me, she caught me off guard,” he snapped.
I sighed. “It will happen today,” Mr Sinclair said, and I snapped my head to look at him. Yeah, right-
it will. Thinking about it, I couldn’t wait any longer.
“So you just clocked sixteen?” It was the alpha. I wondered why he seemed more concerned with
me than everything else going on.

“Yes, I did today,” I answered plainly, and he looked away. That was when Beta Randy looked at him
and eyed him, and he glanced over at Randy. Beta Randy’s eyes widened.
“Wait, are you saying…?” Randy asked.
“It’s of no use, there will be two rejections tonight,” the alpha said simply, his voice hard:
Two? Before I could even process his words, he began walking away. I heard Mr Sinclair gasp behind me, and when I turned, his eyes were on me, surprise written all over his face.
Then I heard Alan speak. “It can’t be, you should reject her soon.” He pointed at me and turned to Alpha Abel, who had already walked out with the door closing behind him.
