The Alpha's Chubby Obsession. novel Chapter 212

Book 2:Chapter 4-1

Idara

When we reached the door, the man stepped aside and gestured politely, a small smile on his face.

“I’m Denver,” he said as he opened it for me.

I honestly didn’t care what his name was. Right now, fear was doing somersaults in my stomach. V

didn’t want to lose this job and end up back at square one again.

I swallowed hard and walked in, my heart pounding faster than normal.

Oh God, please help me.

The office was huge-far larger than I had imagined-but my anxiety didn’t allow me to take in

much of it. My eyes went straight ahead.

His chair was empty.

Only his desk stood there, papers neatly arranged like they’d been measured and placed with precision. Above the seat, mounted on the wall, was the head of a wolf.

For a moment, I tried to convince myself it was just decoration. Plastic, maybe.

I was about to take another step when I suddenly stopped.

I felt it.

A presence behind me.

My eyes widened. Slowly, I turned-and found myself face to face with him.

Mr. Chester.

The CEO.

My boss.

How the hell did he get there? I had walked in and he wasn’t even in the room.

He was tall-very tall. I had to tilt my head back just to look at him properly. His dark hair framed his face, and his honey-brown eyes were fixed on me, intense and unreadable. His long, pointed nose and heart-shaped lips only made him more striking.

Up close… he’d probably be a very good kisser.

What the hell am I even thinking right now?

Book 2 Chapter 4-1

“Miss Williams,” he said.

His voice was another thing entirely-deep, rich, and powerful. When he spoke my name, it rumbled from his chest in a way that made my skin prickle.

“Yes, sir,” I replied quickly.

Claird

I hoped I wasn’t in trouble of any kind. From the very first day I arrived, this man had given me the

strangest feeling-something I couldn’t explain.

He didn’t say anything else.

Instead, his gaze slowly moved across my face, as if he were studying every line, every curve,

memorizing me. The silence stretched, thick and uncomfortable.

All I really knew about him was what everyone else knew: he was incredibly wealthy, commanding

and feared. People respected him the way one respects something dangerous-like an entity

rather than a man.

He had a child, a son, with his ex-wife. They were no longer together, and he currently had a

fiancée. His age was unknown-he kept his life private, guarded, locked away from public view.

And yet, standing there under his gaze, it felt like I was the one being exposed.

Completely.

“Do you need anything, sir?” I forced myself to ask, finally tearing my eyes away from his and fixing

them on a random spot in the room.

I didn’t like the atmosphere between us-not one bit. It felt heavy, suffocating, like the air itself had

thickened.

“No,” he replied simply.

Then why the hell did he call me here?

For a brief moment, I wondered if this was about my argument with Faye. Had he heard already?

“Eliot,” he said suddenly.

My gaze snapped back to him at the sound of that name. What did Eliot have to do with this?

“You both seem close,” he continued, his tone unreadable. “What kind of relationship do you have?”

I blinked, caught off guard.

“Relationship?” I echoed quietly.

He took a step closer, invading my space, his presence overwhelming.
