Book 2:Chapter 13-1
Idara
A completely naked, fully aroused man stood directly in front of me as though it were the most
ordinary thing in the world.

“You should really put your clothes back on,” I whispered, deliberately dragging my gaze away from
his body.
“No,” he replied simply.
I turned my eyes back to him-only to find he had already shifted to face the door. Without raising
his voice, he spoke clearly,
“Denver, I want no one within twenty feet of my office. Especially the werewolves.”
My eyes widened. Denver-that must be the same man from before. That was his name.
How could he possibly have heard Mr. Chester from outside the door, standing so far away?
As if reading my mind, Mr. Chester said calmly, “We have excellent hearing.”
I gave a small, embarrassed nod and tried to pull myself together.
“Why won’t you put your clothes on?” I asked, taking a cautious step backward.
He tilted his head slightly-just the way his wolf, Riley, had done earlier.
“I’ve noticed you like looking at my body.”
I swallowed hard and tried to deny it.
“No, I don’t. Stop saying ridiculous things.” Heat crept up my neck and flooded my cheeks.
He took a slow step closer.
“You’re allowed to touch me, you know.”
I froze where I stood.
He reached out and gently brushed his fingers along my cheek.
“You own this,” he murmured, his voice low. “There’s no reason to be shy about it.”
His gaze dropped for a moment before lifting again to meet my wide, upturned eyes.
If we’d been standing even an inch closer, the tip of his erection would have brushed against my
stomach.

Book 2 Chapter 13-1
Clair
I swallowed hard. This was dangerously tempting. I shook my head sharply, trying to shove the
reckless thoughts out of my mind–until his fingertip grazed my lips, gently parting my bottom one
from the top, exposing the edge of my teeth.
Was he about to kiss me?
“When are you going to stop fighting this?” he asked quietly.
I couldn’t find the courage to answer. My throat felt tight.
“Idara,” he said, speaking my name low and deliberate.
My eyes flew wide. No “cutie pie” this time-just my real name rolling off his tongue in a way that
sent heat curling through me. I realized I liked the sound of it on his lips far too much.
“You’re so beautiful it’s killing me to hold back,” he murmured.
Oh God, stop. Please stop saying things like that.
I squeezed my eyes shut, then forced them open again, desperately trying to regain control.
I turned my face away; his fingers slid from my skin. When I looked back at him, the words tumbled
out in a rush:
“This is all too much. I need time to think… to process everything.”
I braced myself for refusal, for him to push harder. Instead, a slow, almost tender smile curved his
mouth.
“Two days,” he said. “I’ll give you two days. After that, I’m coming for you. And please… don’t turn
me away.”
I hadn’t even realized I’d let out a shaky sigh of relief until he continued smoothly,
“But before then…”
He paused, eyes darkening.
“I’d like to kiss you. You owe me at least that much.”
What?
I blinked, stunned. No-I couldn’t trust myself if I let him kiss me. I opened my mouth to refuse-
-but before a single word could escape, he pulled me flush against him. His hands settled firmly on my waist. The hard press of his arousal against my stomach ripped a soft gasp from me.
