“You should be punished for what you just did, shouldn’t you?” Helio asked, his voice dropping into

that low, dangerous tone I knew too well.

The laughter instantly died on my lips.

“No… hell no,” I protested, trying to feign ignorance. “I should go to sleep now.”

I attempted to make a quick escape, but he caught my arm effortlessly and scooped me up into

his arms as if I weighed nothing at all.

“I thought someone said they had already slept enough today?” he teased as he began walking

toward our bedroom.

I chuckled nervously. “Yes, but… I suddenly feel very sleepy again.”

My weak excuse only made him smile. I kept laughing, but deep down I knew he wasn’t listening to

any of my nonsense.

He had already made up his mind.

Tonight, Helio was going to make love to me senseless… and I was more than ready for it.

Eleanor

We were dragged out of the council meeting like common criminals being hauled off to the dungeons. The moment I arrived at my estate, I realized Helio’s men had already taken over my

home.

“Get out!” I screamed at them, fury boiling in my veins.

Not a single one of them moved. Even my own guards refused to step forward or defend me.

They escorted me straight to my bedroom. I wrenched myself free from their grip the second we

entered.

“I will make every single one of you regret what you’ve done today,” I hissed, my voice shaking with

rage.

But the truth was, I was angrier at myself than at anyone else.

All this time, I had believed the man who saved me that fateful night was Julio. Now I understood

why he had looked so confused and distant when I confronted him about it. He wasn’t the one who

saved me it was Helio.

He had played me for a fool. I had given myself to him completely, convinced that he loved me. Meanwhile, he had been using me, lying to my face, and laughing behind my back the entire time.

The betrayal cut deeper than anything I had ever felt. To realize I had fallen in love with the wrong –

brother made me sick. Even in death, Julio had somehow won against me.

“Where is Anna?” I demanded suddenly.

One of Helio’s guards standing by the door replied flatly, “You are not allowed any visitors.”

“I said I want to see my assistant!” I screamed.

My words fell on deaf ears.

The guard continued calmly, “We will leave you in your room now. You are not permitted to step outside. My men will be monitoring you at all times, as ordered by the Alpha. I suggest you

cooperate.”

I let out a low, bitter laugh. Did they really think they could keep me locked up like this? They had to

be joking.

The guards said nothing more. They simply turned and began filing out of the room.

“Where do you think you’re going? Come back here!” I barked.

None of them even glanced back. They left without another word, locking the door behind them.

My claws slid out involuntarily, sharp and trembling with the overwhelming urge to tear someone apart. The anger inside me had reached a dangerous, uncontrollable peak.

The moment I get out of here, I know exactly who I’m going to kill first. I will destroy his precious

mate and crush the love he thinks he has found.

Now that I know the man who truly saved me, the one I fell in love with, is still alive, I will do

whatever it takes to make him mine. Even if it’s the last thing I ever do.

But first, I need to find a way out of this cage.

Helio had trapped me inside my own home. There was no communication with the outside world.

No visitors. No escape.

Still, one thing remained clear: no one must ever discover where my son is hidden.

As long as I now know that Julio was never the brother I loved, I will make my son a tool I will use,

he will claim his place as the future Alpha, after I have become Luna.

The elders can say whatever they want about him not being a legitimate heir. Their words are

meaningless. He is the first child of Julio. Bastard or not, he was born to rule this pack.

I paced restlessly around my room, my mind racing with a thousand terrifying possibilities,

Where the hell was Anna?

I prayed desperately that Helio hadn’t caught her yet. But even if he had, I trusted her completely.

She was fiercely loyal to me, she would never betray me, no matter what they did to her.

Still, the anxiety gnawed at me. I chewed hard on my fingernails, unable to stop.

Anna

I had no idea where they had brought me, but one thing was certain: I wasn’t going to give them what they wanted. I would never turn against my lady. Never.

The cold, damp room felt suffocating, pressing in on me from all sides.

How had the Alpha found out about my involvement? Someone among us must have spilled the

secret. There was no other explanation.

I had only been following Madam Eleanor’s orders, searching for a reliable hitman to eliminate the Alpha’s mate. I didn’t want to make any calls, because phones could be tapped and conversations

recorded. You could never trust anyone in this world.

I was on my way to meet someone we had used before when my car was suddenly attacked. We tried to defend ourselves until we saw the flag on their vehicles and realized they belonged to the Alpha. As loyal servants, we didn’t fight back.

One of my men stepped forward to ask why they had come for us. They claimed they had a warrant for my arrest, accusing me of plotting the death of the former Alpha Julio.
