“I want you dead,” he replied simply, his voice completely flat and devoid of any emotion.
The cold, emotionless way he said those words sent a chill down my spine, and I had to swallow
hard to maintain my composure.
“Tell me,” he continued, slowly rounding me like a predator circling its prey, “how do you wish to
die, Calisto? Publicly or privately? Or perhaps I should kill you the same way you killed my brother-
by poisoning you?”
He suddenly turned to face me directly. I instinctively took a step back, my heart rate quickening.
At that exact moment, another guard entered the room, a suspicious bag in hand. My eyes
widened in alarm.
“What do you think you are planning to do?” I growled, already preparing myself to transform into
my wolf form.
I knew it was foolish-an old man like me thinking he could physically fight the Alpha-but I was
ready to do everything within my power to stop him, even if it meant getting my hands dirty once
again.
“I will kill you slowly, just as you did to Julio,” Helio said, his tone still eerily calm.
