“You see, I won’t bother forcing you to admit your crimes or declare your innocence, because deep down, between you and me, we both know exactly what happened. But before your end comes, Calisto,” he said, stepping closer to me now “I will make sure you suffer the exact same fate you

inflicted on him. Besides, you are old now, and death is much closer to you than you can even

imagine.”

Cold sweat broke out across my forehead as fear began to creep in. “And you think the elders will

not look into my death?” I warned, trying to sound threatening.

But he only smiled-a cold, calculated smile. “I can do exactly what you did, Calisto. I will bury you long before any autopsy can be conducted. And since you are old and frail, the drug will work much faster and more effectively on you. Don’t you agree?”

He must be delusional if he thinks I will go down so easily without a fight.

“Do you think I am weak, Helio?” I challenged him, my voice rising.

He did not say a word in response.

“You are nothing but a young, inexperienced pup,” I spat, my anger boiling over. “You know nothing about the things I have done or the lengths I went through to get where I am today. If I had truly wanted you dead like your brother, I would have made it happen without hesitation.”

My chest heaved with rage. “I should have killed you when I still had the perfect chance. I only kept you alive because I wanted to use you to my advantage. But ever since you awakened your power, you have become unbearably full of yourself.”

Helio let out a low, mocking laugh. “So you meant to kill me too, right after I married your niece?” He shook his head, clearly looking down on me as if I were insignificant, and that disrespect infuriated me more than anything else. That was exactly how his father and his brother had treated me in the past-and I had successfully wiped them both out.

“Yes, I have done it before,” I snarled, my breathing becoming labored and heavy. “What makes you think I cannot do it again? You think you are untouchable, don’t you? You are not. I promise you, I

will kill you in a way far worse than how I ended your brother and your father.”

My body trembled with fury as I began to shift, my form starting to change.

Helio suddenly stilled. He glanced at me briefly, his expression unchanging, before speaking in a

steady voice:

“Thank you, Calisto. Thank you for openly admitting that you killed my brother and my father.”
