Chapter 58
Osborne
If I said the events at the party didn’t shake me, I’d be lying. As painful as it all was, there was something almost laughable about it.
My father’s mistakes from his youth had finally caught up with him-there was no escaping it. Learning I had a sister didn’t feel like it would change my life drastically; it was simply an addition to the family. Truth be told, I wanted to see her. I kept wondering who she resembled.
From what I gathered, she was older than me-possibly even married with children of her own. That would make me an uncle. Never in my life did I imagine something like this unfolding.
Meanwhile, Aina was fast asleep on the bed, completely drained by everything that had happened The fact that she had to suffer this exhaustion because of the scandal was the only thing that truly angered me.
I knew I could calm the public and handle the noise surrounding this mess. My father was probably tearing himself apart trying to figure out what to say or do, but I had already decided to take responsibility for controlling the situation.
I picked up my phone and called a friend of mine, the head publisher. He answered almost
immediately.
“Shouldn’t you be asleep by now?” I teased.
He laughed. “With everything going on? Sleep’s the last thing on my mind. You’re the one who should be resting. How are you holding up?”
I chuckled softly. “It’ll be fine. That’s why I need your paper to run the story-first thing tomorrow, front page, every magazine.” My voice carried no trace of humor this time.
“Understood,” he said. Once I gave him the details of what to publish, I ended the call and turned
back to Aina.
I watched her sleep, kissed the top of her head, and smiled at the peace on her face. I promised myself I’d make her life easier, not harder. I would clear the way for her happiness-and mine.
At last, I had the woman I had always longed for.
When morning came, I woke to find Aina still sleeping peacefully beside me. She needed the rest. As for me, I had something else on my mind-I needed to see my mother and find out how she was
holding up.

Yesterday must have taken its toll on her, and my father… well, he has a lot of explaining to do.” couldn’t help but wonder how the night had gone between them.
After freshening up, I went looking for her. To my surprise, I found her in her dressing room, calmly sipping tea. It wasn’t the sight I had expected, but relief washed over me nonetheless.
She looked up when she noticed me, offering me a small smile.
“Good morning. How did you sleep last night?”
I returned her smile as I sat down. “I slept well.” She nodded at my answer.
“And how is your mate holding up?” she asked.
“She’s doing fine,” I said, settling into the chair across from her. “But I must admit, you’re doing better than I thought you would.”
That drew a laugh out of her.
“Well, I was just as surprised as everyone else,” she admitted with a shrug. “But what could I do?
What’s done is done. All that’s left now is to find solutions.”
I nodded slowly, letting her words sink in. “Then you’ll need to read the news, Mother,” I said with a
small smile.
She gave me a sharp look, the kind that silently asked, what did you do? Without another word, she
reached for her phone. A moment later, her eyes widened.
“You… you already handled it? When?” she asked, though a smile tugged at her lips.
“I had to,” I replied easily. “Even if it doesn’t make the whole thing disappear, at least it shifts the
weight off our shoulders for a while.”
Her laugh rang out softly as she set the phone aside. “You know not everything can be treated like
a joke, right?”
I chuckled too, letting the sound linger in my chest. “Maybe not, but it helps to act before the storm
drowns us.”
The headline read:
“An Addition to the Alpha’s Family.”
The article was brief, to the point, and free of unnecessary drama.
“It was revealed during the wedding by Bella Maxwell, a close friend of the Cliff family, that Alpha
Owen shares a child with Aira Wilfred, his former mate. Given their past connection, this revelation
comes as little surprise. The Cliff family has assured the people that nothing will change, unity
