Chapter 69
Alpha Hamilton
Everything has finally fallen apart. Today, an official letter arrived on my desk, signed by, Owen himself-informing me that he would be coming here to discuss why I tried to kill his son Not a call. Not a private word between so-called allies. A letter. Formal and cold. The message was clear: he
has cut me off entirely.
And yet, what infuriates me most is the arrogance. Who the hell does he think he is? That I will crawl on my knees before him? Beg for mercy? I will never do that. I’ve endured too much already, swallowed my pride for too long. Owen thinks himself above me, but he forgets I know him too well. He wants to see me squirm, but I won’t give him the satisfaction.
Yes, the ties between our packs are severed. Yes, the Waterford Pack has taken a hit, and the setback gnaws at us. But we are far from finished. Even in this broken state, we stand stronger than before I clawed my way into power. I may not have achieved every ambition, but I achieved enough. Enough to know that even stripped of Owen’s alliance, I am not without teeth.
Let him come. Whatever empty threats he brings with him, I will meet them head-on. He thinks I am still the man who once bent under his shadow, the man who looked up to him as a savior. That was years ago. I know now what he truly is, and more importantly, what he is not. He cannot do more damage than he already has. So let him step into my territory-I am ready.
A knock pulled me from my thoughts. The door opened, and Bella entered. My daughter, flawless as always, dressed as though her beauty alone could bend the world to her will. “Father,” she greeted, her voice smooth, a practiced smile upon her lips.
“Come, sit,” I told her, and she obeyed, graceful as ever.
She tilted her head, studying me. “I’ve been wondering… something seems off lately. I’ve noticed changes. Is something wrong?” Of course she would ask now. She’s been too buried in her own schemes to notice the walls shifting around her. She has no idea how deeply the ground beneath
her is about to crumble.
She’ll find out soon enough.
“Yes,” I admitted. “We’ve severed ties with Silver Crest Pack. The pack is facing a setback. Nothing
permanent, but enough to feel the strain.”
Her eyes widened. “Was it because of that stunt I pulled?” she asked, almost too innocently.
I shook my head slowly. “No, Bella. It was because of me.”

Chapter 69
Confusion swept her face, followed by alarm. I leaned back in my chair, my voice edged with a bitter laugh. “My plans went awry. Owen found out.”
“You… had plans? But I thought you and Alpha Owen were close.”
Cla
“Close?” The word was bitter on my tongue, and I laughed harshly. “Don’t be ridiculous. Owen and I
have never been friends, or maybe he was with me. You would be shocked if you knew even half of
your father’s true nature.” I smirked. Cunning has kept me alive longer than loyalty ever could.
She narrowed her eyes. “So what exactly did you do?”
I didn’t flinch. “I ordered Osborne to be killed.”
The words cracked through the air like thunder. Bella shot to her feet, her eyes blazing with
disbelief. “What? You did what? You know how much I love him!”
“Love?” I snarled, slamming my fist against the desk, the wood shuddering beneath the force. “You
don’t love him, Bella. You’re obsessed. You think he should be yours simply because you want him.
That bastard has been a thorn in my side for far too long.” My voice was sharp, dangerous enough
to make her falter.
Her lips trembled with fury as she turned, pacing away, then spinning back toward me. “And now
that you’ve been exposed, do you think Silver Crest Pack will let it go? Do you think they will show
mercy?”
I said nothing. My silence was her answer. She glared at me one last time before storming out of the office, her footsteps echoing with rage.
Let her be angry. She doesn’t understand. She doesn’t see the bigger picture. Yes, I’ve considered
the consequences. Yes, I’ve imagined the wrath Owen might bring. But what’s done is done. I will
not beg for forgiveness. I will not bow to Owen.
He has done his worst already. Now, it’s my turn to remind him that I am an Alpha also and I can
take care of myself with or without his help and besides I have fed off him more than enough.
Exactly two days later his convoy pulled up at my gates. This time I wasn’t going to greet him like before – I sent my beta out instead and waited inside the receiving room.
Footsteps echoed down the hallway until the doors swung open and he stepped in. I didn’t rise, and he didn’t seem to care. He sat opposite me, silent. For someone who had come all the way here to confirm why I tried to kill his son, he looked too composed. That’s the thing about Owen, weak and too trusting. That’s why I used him.
“I see, Hamilton,” he said, leaning back into the couch.
“You see what?” I asked, my voice hard.

“Oh, I’ve been blind, but now I see,” he replied.
“Cut the crap. You’re here because I plotted to kill your son,” I snapped.
