Chapter 76
Alpha Hamilton
The hit we took shook me to my core, and now I have to make things right. If I keep going down
this path, I’ll destroy my pack completely. I have to make a choice.
With Bella now crippled, life will be harder for her, and as her father, I need to do what’s best-even if
she ends up hating me for it.
The truth is, if she keeps chasing revenge, we’ll be finished for good. I’m not a fool; I know how
powerful the Silver Crest Pack is, and I can’t risk provoking them again.
To make matters worse, many of our investors have already pulled out. The pack will suffer greatly
if I don’t act fast. I need a plan. I need to use what I have left-and that means Bella. Even in her
condition, there are still men who might want her.
That’s why I’ve been going through a list of potential suitors-men who are wealthy, respectable,
and influential. My eyes finally landed on one name: a young, successful businessman, strikingly
handsome, the kind of werewolf who could offer her stability and help save us.
I’ve seen him before. He owns several businesses, and as I scroll through his social pages, I notice
the type of women he’s drawn to-women just like Bella used to be. But will he accept her now, as
she is?
That’s the part I don’t know.
Still, I have to try.
My pack is hanging by a thread, and this might be the only way left to save it.
Bella
Maids flocked into my room and bowed their heads. “Mistress, the Alpha says to get you ready,” one of them said. Seeing them there only fueled my anger – they all had perfectly working legs while I didn’t. How dare they.
“Get out of my room this instant.” They glanced between themselves and then back at me. “We’re
sorry, we can’t do that,” one replied. I was stunned. “I said get out,” I spat, but they didn’t move.
One of them sighed in my presence and my spite flared. “Ma’am, if you don’t cooperate we will have no choice but to force you,” she said, her voice steady and edged with contempt. I laughed despite myself.
“I am Bella Maxwell, and just because I can’t use my legs doesn’t make me less. You’ll all pay for

this. Guards!” I called, breathing hard, furious. I would have their legs – how dare they. “Guards!” {”
shouted again, but no one came. What the hell was happening?
“They won’t come, mistress, so please cooperate,” the maid repeated. That was the last straw. I grabbed the vase beside my bed and flung it in her direction. She caught it with effortless speed –
then smiled.
My eyes widened at that smile. I looked to the other maids and saw the same expression: not
amusement, but cold mockery.
“Since you won’t cooperate, girls, we must make her look presentable,” the lead maid said, stepping closer with the others behind her. “Don’t you dare touch me!” I screamed, but they didn’t
relent. They seized me roughly and began removing my nightclothes. Everything happened so fast and it left me in pain; there was no gentleness in their hands.
These were the maids who used to cower before me, now manhandling me in the worst way. This
was the height of humiliation. I would report them to my father and have them killed.
They dressed me, did my makeup and fixed my hair while I stopped fighting. The one brushing my hair had the guts not to be gentle about it, tugging like she enjoyed it. I’ll have them pay, just let me
get to my father first.
The gown they put on me fits perfectly, hugging my body the way it used to. My hair was neat, and I almost looked like the Bella I once was-except now, I sat in a wheelchair.
“Where are you taking me?” I asked, but no one answered.
“We were told not to tell you, mistress. Please, just come with us,” the lead maid said.
I just wanted to see my father and tell him what they had done to me, how they treated me like I was nothing. But when we entered the receiving room, a strong scent hit my nose, and my brows
furrowed. It was the most intoxicating smell I had ever perceived.
They wheeled me in, and there was my father, sitting across from a man. I could only see his side
profile until he turned toward me.
And when he did, I froze. I wanted to run away, to hide, but I couldn’t.
He was handsome-golden hair, fair skin and green eyes. If Osborne was night, then this man was day. But what came out of his mouth next shattered that thought.
“So this is the lass you’re offering me for my help?” he said, turning to my father.
My father smiled, looking awkward. “Oh yes, I told you about her situation.”
The man laughed, like this was all a joke to him. “I see. But you didn’t teach your daughter manners,

I frowned. “Excuse you?” How dare he?
