Chapter 79

Aina

The coronation of Osborne and me was the grandest event I had ever seen. I always knew our

pack was the strongest in the North, but I never truly understood how strong it was until that day.

All the neighboring packs attended, and even some from other regions came to witness it. The

crowd was endless, the cheers were loud, and everywhere I looked, people were dressed in their

finest. I was completely mesmerized by it all.

That day, Osborne took my hand and brought it to his lips, and I couldn’t help but smile. He was the

man who had shown me that beauty wasn’t only something seen on the outside, it came from

within too.

He was the one who saw through every flaw I tried to hide and still chose to love me anyway. How

he came to love me so deeply still feels like a mystery I can never solve.

And when the moment came, when Osborne was crowned Alpha-the entire place erupted in joy.

The cheers were so loud that I could feel the ground tremble beneath my feet. It was a moment so powerful, so breathtaking, that it felt like the world itself was celebrating with us.

And when I knelt before Osborne as he made me his true Luna, a surge of power unlike anything I

had ever felt before flowed through me.

So this was what it meant to hold such authority, strength so immense that it demanded wisdom,

confidence, patience, and grace to wield it well.

In that moment, I knew without a doubt that I, Aina Cliff, was ready. Whatever responsibilities this

title would bring, I would face them head-on. This was a new beginning for me, a chance to lead, to

grow, and to use this power with purpose and wisdom.

Three Years Later

Aina

I woke up to the sound of soft giggles and immediately knew who it was, but I kept my eyes closed, pretending to be asleep as tiny fingers brushed against my lips.

Without opening my eyes, I gently caught the little finger in my lips, which made the giggles grow louder. I finally opened my eyes to see a small, bright-eyed girl smiling down at me. Her hair was a lovely golden brown, Osborne had said that was also his hair color when he was young but it eventually darkened to the one he has right now.

I pulled her close and tickled her lightly, making her squeal with laughter. “Oh, you little mischief,

why did you have to wake Mama so early?” I teased.

“Mama snores,” she said between laughs.

I froze, pretending to be offended, and then heard the familiar deep chuckle of my one and only love. So, he’d been in the room all along.

“Mama does not snore,” I protested, shooting her a playful glare, but our daughter only shook her head stubbornly, her curls bouncing as Osborne laughed again.

“Good morning, babe,” Osborne said as he walked over, leaning down to kiss me while our

daughter watched with curious eyes, glancing between her Dada and Mama.

“Good morning, sunshine,” I replied softly, smiling up at him. He already looked sharp and prepared

for the day, while I, thanks to him-looked like I hadn’t slept at all.

“You’re ready for today’s duties?” I asked, brushing my hair back.

He nodded with a calm smile and straightened. “Indeed, I am.”

“Well, since Maurice took over the Waterford Pack, he came to me seeking some investment opportunities,” Osborne began, his expression thoughtful and conflicted. “But given our history, I’m a bit skeptical. I want nothing to do with that pack anymore.”

He’d told me bits and pieces about Maurice before, and from what I gathered, the young man

didn’t seem half as bad as his father. Still, rumors whispered otherwise-that Maurice had been the

one who turned his own father into a vegetable.

Yes, Alpha Hamilton, once a feared leader, now lay motionless in his room, paralyzed from the

neck down. Word had it that he lived in miserable conditions.

I supposed, for a man who had inflicted so much pain on others, including his own son. Fate had a

cruel yet poetic sense of justice.

“Okay,” I said thoughtfully, “give him a little support. Test the waters. If he’s anything like his father,

you’ll find out soon enough. But from what I’ve seen, he’s been trying to rebuild what his father and sister destroyed.”

Osborne nodded slowly, a look of resolve crossing his face. I could tell he’d already been

considering it; he just needed a little encouragement to take that step. From the way he spoke about Maurice, it was clear he saw him as a younger brother of sorts. The pain in Osborne’s eyes whenever he mentioned the past-especially how Bella had nearly killed Maurice-still lingered deeply.

Bella. The last I heard of her, she’d been married off, or more accurately, sold off to someone far

away. Since then, she has vanished from the public eye completely. Strange, really. Bella Maxwell

used to be the darling of every magazine cover, the woman everyone wanted to talk about.

Clair

Now, it was as though she’d never existed at all. Her name no longer echoed in gossip circles or

pack reports. I couldn’t help but wonder how she was living now-or if she even was.

Bella

For three years, I’ve lived in misery-three whole years unable to use my legs, trapped in a body that

no longer feels like mine. I’ve become nothing but a shell of who I once was.
