After we said our goodbyes, I gathered my few belongings, Rosa and Feli insisted on walking me out. “I’m really going to miss you,” Feli said, wiping at her tears with the back of her hand.
“Yeah, I’ll miss you too. All the fun times we had, but I’ll text you both I promise” I replied, forcing a small chuckle, though my throat felt tight. For a brief second, we laughed, pretending everything was normal, but my heart was pounding in my chest like a drum.
The moment we opened the back door and stepped outside, everything came crashing down.
Men in black suits surrounded us almost immediately, moving with the precision of soldiers. My eyes widened in shock as Rosa and Feli gasped beside me.
And then I saw him, Beta Dave. My heart dropped straight into my stomach. No. It couldn’t be. But the cold certainty in his expression told me otherwise. He was here because of Alpha Maurice.
“Please… please, just let me go,” I stammered, my voice trembling.
Dave’s eyes met mine, calm but sharp as steel. He sighed and lowered his head slightly. “I’m afraid we can’t allow the future Luna to leave our sight. You’ll have to return inside, ma’am.”
The word Luna hit me like a slap. My throat tightened as I shook my head furiously, my bag slipping from my trembling hands. “No! I’m not staying here! I’m leaving-please, I just want to go home!” I cried out, the desperation clawing its way up my chest.
But Dave’s expression didn’t waver. He just gave a small, almost polite smile that made my stomach twist. “Then I’m afraid we only have two options, ma’am,” he said quietly. “Either you follow us willingly… or we’ll have to make you. The choice is yours.”
My breath hitched, and I instinctively stepped back, my pulse racing. They were all still standing there, tall and unflinching, waiting for me to make a move. I could tell there was no winning this.
Then his gaze shifted-to Rosa, who kept her head bowed nervously. “You,” Dave said, his voice firm.
“I’ll need a word with you.”
Rosa’s eyes flickered toward me before she stepped forward obediently, her hands trembling as
she approached him.
“The rest of you,” Dave continued, his tone cold and commanding, “escort Miss Octavia to the
former Luna’s room.”
Before I could even protest, the men closed in around me, their shadows swallowing mine. If I fought back, they’d only drag me in by force. My hands clenched at my sides, helpless.

“Octavia, please… just listen,” Feli whispered beside me, her voice trembling with fear. I turned to
look at her, she was shaking too, trying to be brave for me.
I took a deep breath, swallowing hard. There was no use struggling now. I’d just have to play along-for now. My only hope was to convince Alpha Maurice to reject me. Once he did, I’d
disappear.
Far away from here. Far away from him. Forever.
Maurice
As I went through the pile of papers before me, my mind wouldn’t stay focused. I placed them down gently and let out a deep sigh. I could only hope Dave had carried out my orders as I
instructed.
Just then, I caught his scent drawing closer to my office, and before he could even knock, I said, “Just come in,” my tone firm and steady.
He pushed the door open and entered with long strides, bowing his head before straightening to
speak.
“She’s currently in the former Luna’s room, Alpha, and I have the report on what you asked me to investigate.”
I nodded, waiting for him to continue, and as soon as he spoke, my hands curled into fists. My heartbeat quickened, and an uneasy feeling crept through me, dragging along memories I wished had stayed buried.
If Bella was here right now, I’d do to her ten times what she had done to Octavia, that’s the name Dave called her, a beautiful name, one that is sweet to say.
“Is that so?” The words left my mouth quietly as Dave bowed his head. I stood up slowly, straightening my posture, my expression unreadable. If that was the case, then I couldn’t entirely blame her for hating me or trying to run away. Still, that didn’t change anything. I needed to have a word with her – whether she liked it or not.
She was my Luna. And I wasn’t going to reject her.
“Then I’ll leave now,” I said firmly, my feet already moving toward the door. Dave followed behind as we stepped out of the office, the sound of our footsteps echoing down the hallway, until I left him. When I got to the former Luna’s room, her scent filled the air immediately, soft, sweet, yet it stirred something sharp inside me. I clenched my teeth and steadied myself, forcing my emotions down. The last thing I wanted was to scare her more than she already was. Still, the memory of her trembling before me made me hesitate for a moment. I hated how much it bothered me… but if

she was ever going to grow past that fear, I needed to face her.

I opened the door quietly and stepped in, to my surprise she was already on her feet, waiting for
the floor, and her forehead pressed against the rug. “Please… just reject me,” she begged, her
voice trembling, her whole body shaking as if she’d collapse.
I moved closer, lowering myself until my head was near hers. The situation almost made me
chuckle, me kneeling there beside her like this – but the small sound that escaped my lips only
