“You just got there Natalie, what trouble have you gotten yourself into?” He asks me but I know he’s joking, it’s a running joke between us, he’s the one that always gets into trouble but he like to accuse me of getting in trouble.

I know you’re all probably wondering who Theo is, so let me catch you up.

When I got to Denver, I got a job at one of this old school diners as a waitress and at the same time I was going to school, I met Theo at the diner.

He was this skinny teenager who always had on a black hoodie and baggy jeans, it was clear that he didn’t want to attract and attention to himself.

He would come in the evening when I started my shift, he would order a double cheeseburger with double fries and the biggest glass of chocolate milkshake that we had and he would down everything in twenty minutes, after he was done he would spend the rest of his time typing away on his laptop until we closed at eleven and then he would leave.

We took the bus together and I realised that he lived a few blocks away from my apartment.

Then one day on my way back from school, I wss running late for work but I still had to change into my uniform, I saw the reason why a young boy like him spent all his time down at the diner. His father, who I later found out was his stepfather, he beat him physically and verbally, and his mum was always high that she never did anything about it.

That day I finally approached him at the diner, I got a salad and I put it right in front of him, he told me that he didn’t order it and I told him that he needed it because ig he continued eating the way that he did, he was going to become the youngest person to die of a heart attack and that was the first time I saw him smile.

We got to talking and that’s when I found out the reason why his step father always beat him, he said his father was a wolf and so was he, but his mother and his step father were humans and his step father saw him as an abomination.

It hurt my heart hearing that and I knew I didn’t have much at the time but I also knew that there was no way in hell that I was letting him go back home that night.

I asked him if he wanted to leave with me and I also mentioned I had two babies who didn’t like sleeping at night, but he had no problem with it and that’s how Theo came to live with us.

Turns out he was a genius and with my help he was able to get a scholarship into MIT, and he

helped me by giving me a new identity. I actually didn’t know what he was doing until he was done because he knew that I would never approve of it. But he basically deleted Natalie Nichols from any database and Natalie Edmund was born, I had a new social security number and everything, same thing with the boys. I didn’t approve of what he did but I was grateful to him.

He sold an app to Mark Zuckerbergg and now runs his own startup company, he’s doing really good for himself.

“You know you get into enough trouble for the both of us.” I tell him and he laughs.

“That is true, so tell me, what do you need help with?” He asks me.

“Well I’m on a case, some bodies were found in trash bags, they were dismembered but they also had this weird markings on them, I know I’ve seen them somewhere before but I can’t just put my finger on it, I’m going to send you some pictures can you help me run them through your occult database?” I ask him.

“Why not just use the police database?” He asks me.

“You and I both know that their database isn’t as extensive as yours.” I tell him.

“That is true, I’ll do it, I need a distraction from this code I’m working on anyways.” He tells

“I know, so you’re barely there a day and you already have a case.” He tells me.

“I know, I thought I would have a week to settle in, but it’s ok, you know I like working.” I tell him.

“I do know that, so how are my boys? I miss them so much.” He tells me.

“They miss you too and Ian, but they’re good, I had to leave them at home but I’m on my way back now.” I tell him.

“How’s Clayton enjoying his new tablet?” He asks me and I just know that he has a smirk on his

face.

“Asshole, you know you could’ve told me you were getting them tablets, Xavier couldn’t be bothered with his, but Clayton on the other hand, he’s on that tablet like white on rice.” I tell him and he laughs.

“I’m the fun uncle, I can’t have them leaving and forgetting all about me.” He tells me.

“They’re never going to forget you Theo, and you know what aren’t going to stay here forever.”

I tell him.

“I know, you need to find my other niece and nephew.” He tells me.

“That is correct, once I find them, we’ll put Delmore in our rearview forever.” I tell him.

“Ok, so when are we starting on that plan?” He asks me.

“We’re starting today, I need you to find out everything you possibly can about Yara.” I tell him.

“I know, but be careful Theo.” I tell him.

“I always am, which reminds me, someone was trying to look for you.” He tells me.

“What are you talking about?” I asked him.

“I put up an alert if anyone was looking into you and yesterday someone was trying seriously hard to find details about your life, but don’t worry I took care of it. The only thing they’ll find is what I want them to find.” He tells me.

“So who exactly would want to find details on you?
