The Alpha's Four Hidden Heirs (Natalie and Samuel) novel Chapter 111

**The City That Drowned in the Sound of Its Own Heartbeat by Erynd Cal DusK 111**
**Chapter 111**

The air in the room shifted dramatically the moment she removed her mask. A wave of relief washed over me, a quiet confirmation that my instincts had been correct all along. Yet, I found it impossible to tear my gaze away from her. She was stunningly beautiful, radiating a light that drew me in.

As she began to speak, I felt a warmth spread through me, knowing that she was finally trusting me with such a vulnerable part of her life. I listened intently, hanging on every word, until she reached the part about the hotel.

I was still grappling with the fragments of information I had, uncertain if she truly was the mother of Sophia and Franklin. But then she began to recount that fateful night at the hotel, describing how she discovered she was carrying quads. Each syllable she uttered struck me like a physical blow, nearly knocking me off my feet. I struggled to remain upright as her revelations unfolded.

Her words painted a picture of betrayal and heartache, and with every detail she shared, my hatred for Yara Nichols deepened. What kind of person could inflict such pain on their own flesh and blood? It was unfathomable that Yara had stolen her sister’s children, masquerading them as her own for all these years.

The pieces of the puzzle fell into place, and I finally understood why my wolf had growled with a primal fury whenever I was near Xavier and Clayton. He recognized them as ours, as part of our lineage, and I had been too blind to heed his warnings.

Finally, she finished her story, and her gaze locked onto mine. I could see every emotion flickering across her features—confusion, anger, sadness. It was as if she could read my soul.

“I am so sorry, Natalie. I had no idea,” I managed to say, my voice filled with genuine remorse. She shook her head, her expression softening.

“You don’t need to apologize, Samuel. This wasn’t your fault,” she reassured me, but I knew that wasn’t entirely true. Secrets had been kept, and I felt a weight on my shoulders. There could be no more barriers between us; she had opened up to me, and I had to reciprocate, even if I feared it might drive her away.

“It was me,” I confessed, and her brow furrowed in confusion.

“What do you mean, it was you?” she asked, her voice trembling slightly.

“The guy at the hotel… that was me,” I admitted, and I could see the shock wash over her, causing her to instinctively step back.

“You? You were in this with Yara?” Her eyes glistened with unshed tears, and my heart sank.

“No, absolutely not! I would never get involved in something like that. Damn it, I’m messing this all up. Let me start from the beginning, okay?” I pleaded, hoping she would understand.

Tears streamed down her cheeks as she absorbed my story, her eyes searching mine for answers.

I reached out, wanting to comfort her, but she raised her hand, halting my steps.

“The woman who brought the kids to you… the one who looked just like me—was that Yara?” she asked, her voice barely above a whisper.

“Yes, it was,” I confirmed, watching her gasp in realization.

“So does that mean…” Her voice trailed off, unable to finish the thought.

“It means that Sophia and Franklin are yours. You are their mother.”
