No, it cannot be possible, Samuel can’t be the boys father, I mean Yara was the one behind all this and I highly doubt that Samuel would have been involved in her schemes, I mean what does he have to gain?

“Look mummy, you see the resemblance don’t you?” Xavier asks me.

He presses a button on his laptop and then it mover to another screen, I think it was a Wikipedia page on Samuel.

“See mummy, his name is Alpha Samuel Bowers, the head of the wealthiest family in Delmore and he’s also the Alpha of Blood Moon Pack, the strongest and most powerful pack in all of Chaneae. He’s thirty years old and has tens of billions of net worth. Doesn’t he look identical to Clayton and me? Clayton doesn’t look exactly the same as this man. But, Mommy, take a good look at me. Don’t Samuel and I look alike?”

I cupped Xavier’s face and took a good look at him and then the picture on the screen.

Oh my goodness! He does look identical to Samuel! The thought of comparing their looks never crossed my mind, for Samuel’s facial features are sharp, while Xavian has a chubby face. Now that Xavian mentioned it, he does look like he’s a replica of Samuel. But looking at it now, there’s no doubt in my mind, both looks are identical, it’s jarring.

What does this mean?

“You guys do look a tiny bit alike, but he isn’t you and Clayton’s father.” I tell him and I immediately see the disapointment in his eyes.

I hold his face in my hands and smush his cheeks together. “I mean look at my handsome boy, you look nothing like that man.” I say to him, hoping that he will drop this matter.

“Mommy, what are you saying? Do you need glasses? I look totally the same as him. H–He must be Daddy!” He says with a muffled voice.

“Sweetheart, I need you to listen to me, don’t waste your time on this man. Believe me when I tell you, he can’t be your father.” I tell him, but I can tell that he’s not going to let this go, already see the stubborn set in his eyes.

“Why?” he asked in an annoyed tone.

“There’s no why.” I tell him, doing my best not so snap at him because I know that he’s just a

I close my eyes for a brief moment and take a deep breath. When I feel settled, I turn around and close the laptop.

1 lift Navier up and carry him to his room where I find his brother so focused on his video game that he doesn’t even notice that I’m there. I walk towards him and remove the headset that he’s wearing.

“Time for bed.” I say to him as I put Xavier back on the ground.

“Please mummy, five more minutes.” Clayton pleads.

“Nope, even if I gave you an hour, it wouldn’t be enough for you. Bed Now.” I say in a serious tone so he knows that I’m not playing.

They both grumble but eventually they get into thier beds. I kiss them both on their cheeks and then Xavier wraps his hands around my neck and gives me a kiss on my cheek too. “Good night, Mommy.” He tells me.

“Good night my loves.” I say to him and his brother and then I leave their room, closing the door behind me.

I close their door behind me and I walk a few steps before I slump against the wall. It feels like I can’t breathe and my chest is tight. Like someone or something is squeezing my heart.

Over these five years, even though I’ve been doing my best as their mother, I could never substitute their yearning for a father’s love. Clayton and Xavier do indeed look identical to Samuel. However, it’s impossible that Samuel is their biological father. Yara would never have let him be involved with me. On top of that, Samuel isn’t someone who allows people to manipulate him either. I mean he’s an Alpha. He’d never fall for Yara’s scheme. It’s better to get the pain over with than to prolong the agony.

I knew that my words could break Xavier’s heart. However, all I wanted was for him to not get his hopes up, it’s better I put a stop to it now, than let him get hurt in the future.

I was just about to get up from the floor when I heard the boys voices coming from their room. You see they know that they’re shifters but I haven’t really explained to them the abilities that comes with being a werewolf.

One in particular is that ability to hear things near or far, because if they knew about it, they are smart boys, they’ll start hiding things from me.

“So did you show her the picture?” Clayton asks Xavier.

“Yes I did.” Xavier tells his brother.

“And? What did she say? Did she see the resemblance?” Clayton asks.

“No, she said that I looked nothing like Samuel Bowers and she continued to maintain her stance that, that other man was our father.” Xavier says.

“How is that even possible? The resemblance is clear.” Clayton says.

“I didn’t want to upset her so I stopped talking about it, but I do know that I won’t stop looking into it. This man is our father, I’m sure of it.” Xavier says.

I cannot deal with this, not this night. It’ll have to wait till tomorrow, it’s clear that the boys aren’t going to let this go that easily. But I have work emails to get to, I’ll take care of this

matter tomorrow.

I stand up and I wipe the tears from my face, I go back into the living room, grab my laptop and sit down on the couch. I open up my email and the first mail there is from Yandel Moss, the CEO of Dream Pharmaceuticals, and in it is a message that I’ve been waiting for, for a while now.

Well, it looks like I’m going into my office tomorrow, not the morgue, my other office.
