The stunned look on his face was almost comical, I didn’t blame him though, I guess I didn’t have the face of a chairman, if I and another man were in a room and we were to guess who the chairman was, there was a high possibility that no one would pick me, it would be funny, if it wasn’t so insulting.

“You are the chairman of Dream Company?” He asks with a very shocked voice.

My company Dream Pharmaceutical was quite a new company. Though it was only established three years ago, it quickly became one of the biggest pharmaceutical companies in Delmore due to our effective anti–inflammatory drugs.

Everyone knew that Yandel only held fifteen percent of Dream Company’s shares. The other seventy percent was in the hands of the chairman.

However, my identity as the chairman remained a mystery. Many speculated that the chairman might be an old man who could not show himself in public.

I’m pretty sure that Ross and everyone else, never in their wildest dreams did they imagine that the founder and chairman of Dream Company was none other than the beautiful young woman sitting in front of him.

“That’s right. She’s my boss and the chairman of Dream Company, Natalie Edmund.” Yandel made the introduction with a straight face as he brushed his hair away from his eyes.

I was used to Yandel’s brown–nosing by now, so I didn’t even bother talking to him and I looked at Ross, to try and gauge his reactions.

“You can continue staying where you are, hiding under a rock or you could decide to stop wallowing in despair and climb back to the top. It all depends on you.” I tell him.

I look at him and I can see that he’s thinking about it and I see the moment in his eyes when he makes his decision.

“I hate where I am right now, I hate what she did to me.I want to get up. I want revenge.” He says and I smile, this is going exactly as I planned. You see you can get anyone to say yes to you, you just have to find out the right button to touch.

“The first step to getting back on top is to dress the part.” I tell Ross and then I look over to Yandel and say, “Take him and dress him up. You know that suit tailor I took you too, when we first met, tell him that I sent you and that I want him to give Ross a whole new wardrobe. But

for now, lend him your clothes.”

“I have an extra suit in my office.” Yandel tells me.

“Good, give that to him, you both look to be about the same build.” I tell him.

He leads Ross into his bathroom and they’re gone for a few a while and then after a few minutes, the door to the bathroom opens and Yandel comes out first followed by Ross.

It might just be a change of clothes, but the difference is clear, I could see a glimpse of the man I once knew.

“Not bad at all, you clean up nicely Dr. Trevor. Now all you need is a shave and a haircut.” I tell him.

It was clear on his face that he was now comfortable around me, his body language wasn’t that stiff. “Thank you.” He says.

“Boss, how about me?” Yandal asked and I smirked, he always likes being the center of attention, he hates it when the attention is taken off him.

“You? Good enough.” I purse my lips and continue, “You’ll start flying off the roof, if I praise you more.”

He looked at me and I smiled at him and he smiled also.

Afterward, I began discussing our latest strategies and our research and development direction with the both of them.

We continued discussing and Yandel who was already used to the way that I did things and my train of thought, but Ross just keeps quiet and he stares at me and I wish that I could hear what was going on in his head.

As we were about to finish, my phone rang all of a sudden.

I got up and went to a quiet corner to pick up the phone while Ross and Yandel discussed quietly.

“Hello, is this Ms. Edmund?”

“And you are?” I ask.

“I’m Alpha Bowers‘ butler, Gavin.”

Gavin? Why was he calling me? I had no business with him.

Even though I had agreed to help with Sophia’s aphasia, the appointments were supposed to be held once a month. This calm was coming way too early.

“Gavin, what is it?”

“Ms. Edmund, I know that I’m calling at a bad time, but Mr. Franklin and Ms. Sophia are on a hunger strike.” He says and I’m so confused.

“Why are they on a hunger strike?” I was confused, I mean I know that Franklin has a mean and stubborn streak but not Sophia, Sophia was so obedient.

“Because… they want to see you. However, Alpha Bowers said he would not arrange a meeting since it’s still too early. That’s why they’re throwing a tantrum. Mr. Samuel got angry and confiscated their phones. The kids couldn’t do anything else, so they decided to go on a hunger strike.”

I was stunned and something tells me that it’s Fanklin leading this charge and Sophia is just following.

Those little cuties went on a hunger strike because of me?

Natalie was surprised and worried at the same time. “Gavin, how long has it been since they went on the hunger strike?”

“They started yesterday afternoon and didn’t have dinner. It’s almost been a whole day now. They haven’t had a bite to eat. They didn’t even drink much water…” Gavin’s voice was filled with worry.

How could they go a whole day without eating?

I furrowed my brows and asked, “How about Alpha Bowers? How did he react to his children refusing to eat?” I ask him.

“He is aware, but he…”

“What is it?” I snap at him.

He replied with a helpless tone, “He said they have a standing appointment to see you once a month, so they have to follow that agreement. Since he doesn’t want to spoil the children, he’s letting them go on hunger strike. He thinks that they will eat when they get too hungry. If they faint from hunger, he will get a doctor to give them some nutritional shots.”

I was dumbfounded by whay I heard, how could he say something like that? They were his children. How could he be this cold blooded?
