NATALIE.

His pulse was irregular, almost like blood was struggling to mover through his arteries, I suspected something but I had to examine him more thoroughly to be sure. I opened his eyes and they were blood shot, I checked the veins leading up to his neck and they were black, same thing on his hands and his legs and the ones on his chest were getting very close to his chest, which means that I got here just in time.

Someone was slowly poisoning Alpha Watson with wolfsbane and something else but I wasn’t sure what that was, normally he should have been able to fight off the other poison but because his body is so weak from the wolfsbane he can’t, so that’s what I’m going to start with.

I have to admit, whoever is behind this is actually smart, I mean you need to be smart in order to know just the right dose of wolfsbane to give a werewolf and not just an ordinary werewolf an Alpha.

I mean wolfsbane is toxic to us and can kill us, so to be able to get the right dose to be able to poison him slowly and it’s masked as a normal sickness, I have to admit that I’m impressed. It took me years to figure out how to handle wolfsbane, so yes I’m impressed.

But

apart from being impressed, I have to admit that I was a little bit terrified. I mean it was clear that more than one person in the Watson clan wanted their father and Alpha dead. I mean they really are heartless, the man is an old man and give it a few years and he’ll be gone, so they really couldn’t wait a fey years? I mean Mr. Jones made a good decision by reaching out to me because just by looking at him, without intervention he won’t survive to see next week.

I needed to get the toxins out of his body and I needed to do it fast, normally I would use a mixture and burn it out of his body but in this state, he won’t survive that procedure, so I’ll have to use something else. I quickly took out a set of acupuncture needles from my bag.

I lifted up his shirt and inserted the needles at different acupuncture points on his body.

This process was a little bit slower than the first one but it would still work and hopefully it would also flush out the other unidentified poison in his body.

He could only recover completely after the detoxification process, but he would be weak at first. But lucky for him, he’s a werewolf Alpha and he’ll be back to himself in a day or two.

I was so focused on what I was doing that I didn’t even notice that someone had walked into the room, I was about to insert the last needle at the acupuncture point between Max’s eyes, when someone forcefully gripped my arm and stopped me.

The person was holding onto my arm so firmly that I could not move my hand at all.

“Who are you? What are you doing to my grandpa?” He snarled at me.

I glanced at my arm that was being clutched before shifting my gaze to the person who stopped me.

The man was wearing a white shirt and a pair of gold–rimmed glasses.

Although he was not as mesmerizing as Samuel, his facial features were exquisite as well. The man in front of me was undoubtedly handsome and attractive.

However, I was not distracted by his good looks. The most important task for me to do at the moment was to save Alpha Watson.

“I’m a doctor. I’m here to save him.” I told him and he still eyed me warily..

“That’s not necessarily true,” he said coldly, having no intention of loosening his grip.

“Not necessarily true?” I narrowed my eyes and glared at him. “Listen. Your grandfather is terminally ill. If I don’t do something now, he will die for sure.”

“Why should I trust you? I’ll tear you into pieces if anything happens to Grandpa.” He flashed his dark blue eyes at me.

“I don’t want to waste my time talking to you. Let go of me!”

“No.”

I tried to break free of his grip, but there was no way she could do so.

Knowing that my efforts were going to go down the drain at the last minute, I became increasingly frustrated, I needed to get this last needle in.

I glared at him as Ipppexplained, “Do you know how many types of toxins are there in your grandfather’s body? Two! One of them being wolfsbane, you and I both know how toxic that it to people like us.

That also means at least two people poisoned him. Can you guarantee that the doctor who’s treating your grandfather now is not working for the people who poisoned him? If I were here to take Alpha Watson’s life, I wouldn’t have performed acupuncture. I would have saved my time by just stabbing him with a knife.” I tell him and hope that my words make sense to him and he let’s me go.

He stared at me and I could see the fight on his face, whether or not to believe me.

I stared right back at him, my gaze steady so he could see whatever it was that he needed to see to know that I was actually here to help.

I looked down at Alpha Watson and saw that some of the needles were already filling up with blood, black nasty blood which meant that the needles were working but I had to get this final

needle in.

“The relationship among the members of the Watsons family is complicated, everyone knows that. So the question you should ask yourself is do you actually trust your family?” I ask him.

He let’s out a sigh and I can see that I’m getting to him. “Can I trust you?” He asked me.

“Do you have a better way?” I gritted my teeth. “Your grandfather’s life is at stake. I am not joking.” I tell him with urgency in his voice.

He loosened his grip slowly and let go of my hand. With that, I quickly picked up the crystal needle and inserted it at the acupuncture point between Alpha Watsons eyes.

I felt relieved after inserting the last needle.

I then put my fingers on Max’s wrist, feeling the changes in his pulse.

Just then, a series of footsteps sounded outside the bedroom. Once the bedroom door was opened, a group of well–dressed people forced their in.
