NATALIE.

I stood up straight and frowned at the man. What is with this men and interrupting me?

In response, the well–dressed, middle–aged man stroked his chin and flashed a sinister smile at me, he even flashed his fangs at me.

While I was thinking about how to get out of the situation unscathed, the guy who held my hand, whose name I still don’t know. He took a few steps forward and stood in front of me.

“Uncle Charlic,” he greeted.

Charlie Watsons nodded and scoffed, “Are you the one who brought this ugly woman here and give her the permission to put so many needles on your grandpa? What are you up to?”

As soon as he finished his words, another man chimed in from behind, “As the eldest grandson of the Watsons family, you hope your grandpa dies so that you can take over everything. Am I right? How could you do this, Shawn? How could you be so heartless?” The man asked, but looking at him, I didn’t know why but he looked very guilty to me.

Then the women there to, who I assume were the wives of Charlie and Chris were not easy to deal with as well. They started to voice their criticism too.

“Eldest grandson? Says who? Don’t you remember who his mother is?” One of them said.

“That’s right. Who does he think he is? It was only father who took him seriously when he was still in good health.”

Although Shawn heard all of that, he did not give them any response.

Standing behind him, I could see nothing other than his back.

Even though I could not see the facial expressions of those people, I could imagine their disgusting faces as they said those words.

Alpha Watson, is still alive, but these people are already getting impatient and want to get a share of the family assets. What a bunch of a*sholes!

Facing the elders who were giving him a hard time, Shawn remained composed. “This is all a misunderstanding. I hired this doctor to treat Grandpa.”

Slightly stunned, I knew the man was actually not dumb. At least I knew he was on my side.

“She’s here to treat him? This woman?” One of the woman screeched like a fucking banshee.

“Are you kidding me? How old is she? She’s way too young and lacks experience”

“Shawn, this lady is obviously full of nonsense. How can you be so foolish and listen to her?” Charlie asked, still smoking.

“What if your grandpa’s health condition takes a turn for the worse after you let her treat him?” Chris asked.

Shawn pushed his gold–rimmed glasses up and uttered coldly, “There are several types of toxins in Grandpa’s body, including wolfsbane. I wonder who are the ones who poisoned him?

Several types of toxins?

The two couples‘ expressions immediately turned pale upon hearing that.

Four of them glanced at one another nervously and I knew immediately without an iota of a doubt. The fear was pouring off them, and the guilt was clear on their faces.

At that moment, no one in the bedroom dared to speak.

Barf!

Lying on the rosewood bed, Alpha Watson suddenly opened his mouth and spat out large mouthfuls of black blood, staining the silk bedsheet.

Everyone in the room was caught off guard, including me and Shawn.

He turned around to look at me with his face darkened. “What is happening? Why did my grandpa vomit blood? Didn’t you say that everything is going to be okay?”

Disregarding the filth, I carefully wiped the corner of Max’s lips. However, the old man was still vomiting blood.

Meanwhile, the rest of Watsons family snickered inwardly, did they seriously think that we

couldn’t hear them?

“See? I told you this woman is a quack. Do you still not believe me?” Charlie chimed up

“This is not treatment but murder!” Chris followed.

“Shawn, you’re the one who hired this female doctor. Look at what happens to your grandpa now. You have to take responsibility for that.” One of the wife’s said.

“The Watsons family doesn’t have an unfilial descendant like you. You don’t deserve to have the right of succession!” The second woman screamed.

Well this was news to me, so Alpha Watson actually had a successor but it wasn’t any of his children, it was his grandson?

Shawn did not listen to what they said. Instead, he fixed his gaze on me and I could see that I had lost him, I don’t blame him though, seeing his grandfather barf out blood must be really

scary.

He shot me a deadly stare as if he wanted to skin me alive.

I, who became the target of the Watsons family, looked at Shawn and said calmly, “I didn’t lie to you. It’s normal for your grandfather to vomit blood. As I said, I can cure him, those are the toxins leaving his body, you have to trust me, I can cure him.”

Right after I said that, the rest of the Watsons family laughed mockingly.

“Are you sure it’s normal? He’s vomiting blood!”

“Call the guards! This woman needs to be arrested!”

“He is dying. I’m going to contact the funeral parlor and make the necessary arrangement.”

“Yeah. I’ll contact the lawyer and also inform the council to make some clarifications about the will. A murderer like Shawn who’s killed his grandfather shall not be given the right of succession.”

They were all vultures, the lot of them.

may have just done too much, Meanwhile, the commotion that I caused, also caused the pack guards to arrive at the entrance of the Watsons manor.

One of the guards pointed a spare at me as he flashed his fangs. I knew being reckless was not the best option, so I decided to surrender. The police then arrested me and escorted me to the second floor of the manor.

Not knowing what had happened, I was shocked to see Max lying in a pool of blood. What is this? It’s so scary! What did Natalie do?

Stunned, I hesitated before querying, “Boss, you failed to save him?”

The man standing close to her glanced at me.
