I lifted my eyes to look at his reflection in the mirror as he stood behind me. He was much taller compared to myself.

Him being here with me in this confined space, his scent enveloped me, my breathing was labored and my heart rate increased.

Why? Why do I always feel like this when he is close to me?

With his height of almost one hundred and ninety centimeters, his overly–handsome face like it was specially sculptured, and the extravagant watch on his wrist which was glittering a cold light, Samuel looked stunningly seductive. Everything about him was gorgeous yet not in an exaggerating way.

“Why do you want to eat here with us? Don’t the chefs of the Bowers family cook better than my sweetheart?” I asked him as I batted my eyelashes.

I could see the shock and confusion on his face, I’m pretty sure he was finally putting two and two together, that the sweetheart he has been so jealous of is my son.

“Sweetheart… Is that how you call Xavier?” He asked.

“Yeah, why can’t I?” I glared at him and continued, “He is my son. So what is the problem if I call him ‘Sweetheart?”

“There’s no problem with it. I think it’s nice,” H3 said with a smile. There was tenderness in his eyes, and his gentle smile made my heart flutter.

He is definitely good–looking… Leila murmured in my mind.

Samuel already looked amazing when he was wearing a bland expression, not to mention when he smiled. Even a calm and composed woman like me could not help but be affected by his charms, even if it was for just a moment.

He took a few steps forward and this room was already small enough, now there was barely anything separating us. He traced his finger down my face and then he pushed a stray hair behind my ear as he proceeded to caress my hair in a gentle and loving manner, as if he was petting a puppy or a kitten.

“Hey…” I glared at him.

I grabbed his arm with my hands, which were still covered in foam, and went on, “I know your taste is a bit… unique, but don’t waste your time on me. You won’t get anything from me. I am different from all the other women you have met.”

After all, I had children, and the only reason I was here was to get my kids back and get my revenge. Other than that, I needed to get back my grandfather’s properties back and build a business empire under my name, I mean Dream Pharmaceuticals was big but I had bigger plans for my company. I would never be like Yara, who would do anything just to become Samuel’s wife, as I knew I deserved so much better.

He stared into myeyes, which were as clear as water and I hope that he could see my determination and stubbornness that was shimmering in my eyes.

“I will decide whether or not it is a waste of time.” Samuel took my hand and held it tight. A beam of light flashed across his eyes as he said, “As long as I think it’s worth it, then not a second is wasted.”

I had no idea what to say. How did we get here? I mean just a few days ago he was accusing me of coming on to him and now this.

Just like before, his scent triggers a memory and all of a sudden I’m back in that room, on that night and all I hear are two words YOU’RE MINE.

I’m brought back to the present and all I can do is stare at Samuel in shock, that voice, it sounded like him.

I could sense the persistence in Samuel’s tone.

He has lost his mind! I have children, and I have ugly freckles all over my face! Why are these not enough to drive him away? I don’t understand what he’s up to at all!

Just as I and Samuel were in a stalemate, a small figure appeared by the door.

“Mommy, dinner is ready-” Before Xavier could finish his sentence, he quickly covered his eyes with his chubby hands. “Ahem… Mommy, I didn’t see anything! Please continue!”

Continue? Is this child of mine serious right now? I was so embarrassed, I felt my face heat up.

I sighed speechlessly and explained, “Stop saying nonsense, Xavier! It’s not like what you think it is! Tell your brother dinner is ready!”

Nonetheless, he had already escaped from the bathroom, but I know that he heard me.

“You made Xavier misunderstand us!” I say as I glare at him.

“Oh. I will explain to him later,” answered Samuel nonchalantly as he let go of my hand.

He looked so unconcerned as if he was not bothered by the fact that Xavier had misunderstood the situation. I was not persuaded that he could find a way to explain to Xavier, which means that I will need to have another talk with him.

We both took our seats in the dining room after we were done washing our hands. A few moments later, Clayton and Xavier walked into the dining room and Clayton was shocked to see Samuel.

“You must be Clayton, it’s nice to finally meet you.” Samuel said in a very nice tone.

“Nice to meet you too.” Clayton said in a hushed tone and I understood why, my boy doesn’t really open up easily especially to new people.

Everyone was sitted and began enjoying the meal that Xavier had prepared.

I favored the spicy sauce, while Samuel and the boys ate the steak without sauce.

At first, I did not notice anything, but as they continued with their meal, I found out that not only did the three of them prefer eating steak without sauce, but even the side dishes they favored were the same.

I bit my fork and stared at the man and the boys who were sitting side by side.

They were eating at the same slow pace, and even the way they were holding their forks along with the coolness in their eyes looked similar.

At that moment, I had this nagging feeling that maybe just maybe the boys could be right and Samuel was their father.

However, the thought only lasted for a few seconds in my mind before I told myself it was impossible.

Both Xavier and Clayton’s father was the missing criminal, who no one knew where he was.

I had seen the chat history and the messages about the transaction between Yara and the man. Everything that happened that night was recorded clearly in the messages.

“Mommy, why are you staring at him the whole time? Is there anything on his face?” asked Xavier curiously.

And I realise that I have been caught and Samuel is now looking at me with a smirk on his face.
