NATALIE.

“Is it those women? Are they the reason you’re crying? I knew that their words affected you, why did you act like it didn’t?” He asks me, looking so angry but at the same time, compassionate.

I looked at Samuel with her tear–stained eyes.

Why is it that recently he always happens to be there when I’m at my lowest?

I didn’t even have the opportunity to wipe my tears away before they started rolling down from my cheeks, and one thing I disliked was for others to see the weak side of me, especially if that person was Alpha Bowers.

“It wasn’t the women.” I tell him.

“Then what is it? Why are you crying?” He asks me and I can hear the worry in his voice and the way he looks at me, it makes me just want to spill all my secrets.

I mean I’ve never had someone thay cared, a shoulder to cry on, so his worry does mobe me but I know that I can’t tell him, as long as he has some sort of relationship with Yara, even though he said that I just have to say the word and he’ll end it, but I don’t believe him.

I mean I saw the two of them last time, Yara isn’t looking to let go of him withouta fight and I’m not getting in the middle of that. I just want to find my kids, get my revenge and put Dellmoor in my rear view forever.

“It’s none of your business,” I said to him, giving him a cold glance in the process before I flung his hand away.

With one last look at the kids, I basically ran out from the training center.

In all these years, I had tried my best to forget and let go of all the pain that antagonized her, but I couldn’t help but relive those painful memories when I saw Sophia and Franklin, who were the same age as my twins.

“Are you all right?” A woman in white who I recognised to be the language teacher, Molly Larkins, walked to my side and gave me tissues, causing me to turn my head.

“You are?” I asked, keeping up the pretense that I didn’t know who she was and that I didn’t just hear her talk bad about me to her fellow teachers.

“I’m one of Sophia and Franklin’s language teacher, Molly. I meant no harm. You just looked so sad, so I thought of giving you tissues.” She said with a fake smile on her face.

“Thank you.”

I then took the tissues from her and wiped my tears with them.

“You’re Sophia and Franklin’s…” Molly trailer off, looking very interested as she waited for my

answer.

“Friend,” I replied slowly, looking into Molly’s eyes when I answered.

For one, I was not related to Sophia and Franklin by blood. Hence I considered myself as more of a friend than an elder to them.

Molly then brushed her bangs and continued, “And, you and Alpha Bowers…?” She trailed off again.

I immediately caught the hint when Molly asked, seeing through her antics and I wasn’t one to beat around the bush. I mean she was so confident when she was beating me down with her words, then she should be confident enough to ask what she wants to ask.

“You’ve got the hots for Samuel?” I ask her.

By the look on her face, I could tell that she never expected me to be so straightforward. Her face immediately flushed red as she stuttered, “Y–you-”

“I see, so you fancy him.” I state as a fact.

“What’s with that, anyway? Do I need your permission to like him?” Molly got irritated.

I could only sigh when I looked at Molly now.

Does she think love can bring anyone together? Does she really think any woman can handle someone like Samuel? She has no idea what she’s wishing for.

“What are you sighing for?”

“I’m just sighing at your futile adoration. There’s no way anything will happen between you two,” I replied without a hint of hesitation. I then continued, “Ms. Larkins, it’s best if you don’t waste your time.”

“Huh? So what if I don’t stand a chance? You think you can?”

Molly then stopped her pretentious act and started to spout vile words, furrowing her brows.

“Have you taken a good look in the mirror before saying that? With a face like yours? Freckles everywhere, I’m disgusted just by looking at you,” Molly said while pointing at my face.

I mean the words coming out of this woman’s mouth, how exactly is she a kindergarten

teacher?

I never thought that Molly would change her personality all of a sudden, I mean I thought she would keep up the act. But since she wanted to show her claws, that was fine with me.

“Molly. How can you spout something like that as a teacher?”

“What? Did I say anything wrong?” She looked at me with arrogance and continued, “Not happy that I’m actually prettier than you? Not happy that I like Samuel? I don’t know what dirty tricks you used to reel him in, but for someone as ugly as you to even have the guts to do that really disgusts me!”

Did she just call me ugly? What does that have to do with her? Let’s see who’s the fairest of them all if I take off my hyper–realistic mask!

Just thinking of that, I was close to losing my cool.

“You had better stay away from Samuel.” Molly walked over and was planning on pushing me.

However, I one–upped her first by grabbing her arm and twisting it.

“I know I said that you guys are unsuited for each other, but I take that back. You’re not even worth his time.”

“Ouch!” Tears were seen in Molly’s eyes as she yelped in pain.

Just then, Molly spotted Samuel’s silhouette as did I, but I didn’t stop.

As if she found her saving grace, tears started forming as they rolled down her cheeks. “Alpha Bowers, please save me! This woman is planning to hurt me!”
