Chapter 158
She stepped back.
‘Come in.”
She quickly ushered her in.
Lori stood awkwardly at the door as the woman stared at her.
‘You look dirty.”
She noted as her eyes raked all over her. Lori nodded.
“I know.”
She answered. Suddenly feeling self conscious in her dirty blood soaked clothes. How did she even ever get away with looking like that?!
“Take off your coat. Bathroom’s that way. When you’re clean we can talk.”
The woman said as she pointed to the end of the hall.
Lori nodded and followed her command.
Slowly peeling off the coat and dumping it on the coat hanger.
In the bathroom she looked much more worse than she thought she did.

Her skin deathly pale, her hands and neck and parts of her face covered in dried blood. Her clothes probably had to be burned. She couldn’t imagine wearing them again. At least not with the unmistakable scent of blood on them.
As she peeled off her sweatshirt she studied her waist. She could vividly remember Elliot biting her, but when she touched the spot that he did bite her all she could feel and see was smooth smooth skin.
It was weird.
It had healed so fast,
Almost as if nothing had happened.
She thought about Gabriel and all the emotions that was running through his head. Sabine told her she would handle him, but knowing her, Lori could almost imagine the lies she’d spin to him.
She could easily also tell him that she was dead.
Lori tried to feel the mating bond between them… but no. Her mind was too chaotic. She was jittery and anxious. It wasn’t working. Not like she wanted it
She touched her neck, fondly remembering when Gabriel had bitten her and realized in horror that the place where Gabriel had bitten her had cleared too.

Chapter 158
“No.. no..”
She whispered as she touched her neck.
Nothing. There was nothing there.
She could vividly remember there being a sort of bruising there, she could feel it before, just a few hours before everything happened. Now it was all gone.
All gone.
What did that mean?
There were no survivors. Not a single one.
No sign of Lori either. Or Sabine or any of the rest of her men. In fact, it looked like they had been trying to gather the bodies and had left hurriedly in the middle of the cleanup. Probably when they could smell that he was close.
He had sent his men after them, the scent was still fresh so it was possible they would get something.
The cottage smelled of her. The basement especially.
Elliot too and at one point it felt as if their scents had been entwined.
“What do you make of this? What do you make of all these Alpha?”
کر
Draco asked as they looked at the pile of bloody wolves. They were set to be burnt. Sabine couldn’t even care enough about them to give them a proper
funeral.
Pathetic! Gabriel thought as he turned his face away.
‘I don’t know… someone must have been here…”
Gabriel said as he looked around again. There were no clues. None.
No sign of Lori or Elliot or anything tangible to help them.
Sabine had bolted too. It looked like whatever plan she had in mind had failed. Woefully too.
‘But who?”
‘Or what?”
Draco asked.
‘Call Sabine.”
Gabriel said and Draco’s jaw dropped.
