The Alpha’s Nanny (Lori and Gabriel) novel Chapter 221

Chapter 221

18

She had never imagined that in her wildest dreams she would be attending such an extravagant and high end party. The thought had never even crossed her. mind before. From the limo ride to the time it took them to get out of the limo and into the daunting mansion, she was utterely fascinated by it all.

She had made the full switch to her nephilim form right before they walked into the Summit, the two guards that were placed in front of the large paint

glass door had gaped when her wings appeared. Gabriel looked at her with adoration as he watched her transform. Trasnformations were easier now and

relatively painless for her so she found herself being more and more comfortable with them.

The heightened senses, the feel of power coursing through her veins and then the wings. They were the best part of it. She had been so uncomfortable with

them at first. They had felt heavy, but now when she flexed them it felt like she was flexing a part of her, it felt like it was a muscle. It was extraordinary

how her muscles now worked. Although flying would take her months to master, she couldn’t wait to start practicing how to fly.

Very soon.

As the doors to the Summit opened to them, Gabriel and Lori walked in and the air stilled. Many turned around to look at them and time seemed to stop as

they waltzed into the ballroom. She was the odd one out. The only one with wings and the looks on their faces, she couldn’t decipher what it meant but she

knew some of them must have secretly feared her.

She kept her head high just like she should. Gabriel was next to her, tall, unwavering, a cold look on his face.

That was the mask he had to don on, the cold and mean look that he had to adopt, gone were the soft smiles and small gestures.

‘You’re doing great.’

He said through the mind link and Lori’s façade slipped a little as she smiled. He was trying to reassure her, especially with so many eyes on her.

It was unnerving, but in her nephilim form it didn’t feel so bad. Something about being a nephilim made her more confident in herself. She was more

confident in her form than she would ever be ordinary.

Kate was the first familiar face that Lori laid eyes upon. And there was a scornful distasteful look on her face. She did come with her father just as Lori

anticipated, in a blood red strapless bandage dress. She looked stunning, but Lori looked away smugly, enjoying the scornful look on her face. A small part of

her had secretly wished that the scar on her face remained. But because she had fed her her blood it was most likely healed.

Almost as if the slap had never happened even though it was just a few weeks ago.

The first alpha to approach them was a bushy haired man Gabriel told her was named Ivor. The man had a red overflowing beard, long shaggy blond hair

and small beady eyes. He practically rushed towards them.

‘Caine!’

He bellowed to Gabriel as he pulled him into a hug, his eyes settled on Lori.

‘Ivor. You look well.”

Gabriel answered calmly as he pulled away from the hug and gave Ivor a handshake.

Ivor quickly turned towards Lori.

And who might this beautiful lady be?”

“My mate. Loretta.”

Lori gave him a small smile as he turned to her.

‘Pleased to meet you Alpha Ivor.”

Ivor gleamed, a smirk on his face as he turned to Lori with an oustretched hand, Lori gave him her hand he kissed it generously, his lips lingering for too long till she slightly tugged her hand away.

I heard rumors that you took a Nephilim mate… I didn’t know they were true.”

And where did you hear such rumors?”

Gabriel raised his eyebrow and Ivor shrugged.
